Can you link the thread on Dansk? I hear so much about him but I don't know his story.
This is the story of how his family was "Torn Apart" by the WTS:

And this is the thread where we found out that Dansk (Ian) has mantle cell lymphoma:

We have been having weekly vigils for Ian (and now for Brenda and Kelly) on Tuesdays. There's a new thread started each week.

listing of authorities and their date for the fall of Jerusalem
by M.J. insorry if this has been posted before.
i came across it and thought it was worth pointing out: http://members.tripod.com/sosoutreach/wts/607.html.
(edited) the annoying popup caused me to cut and paste the table from the page, rather than embed it: the narrative before and after is good too so you might want to check it out the original page.

I didnt realize you were sick Marjorie. May I ask what you are recuperating from? I hope things are going well for you.
Tor ---
Thanks for asking. I'm still recovering from a car accident that took place almost 16 months ago, in November 2004. I'm definitely making progress, but I still have to watch the typing as it tends to aggravate my neck and arms. I am months behind on my emails and forum messages. On the plus side, I have become very good friends with two wonderful women who have helped in my recovery -- an accupuncturist and an occupational therapist/massage therapist. They've become real friends.
This thread caught my eye, so I skimmed through it the other day. I see that not much has changed.
Regards,

Scholar wrote: The point of Robert Youngs article and his earlier studies published in the same journal
Hi, Neil ---
The author is actually Rodger Young, not Robert Young. I wrote to you about this last year:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/98220/1745071/post.ashx#1745071
I hope you've been well. I'm continuing with rehab and haven't been on the board much.

The 1914 Doctrine and The Threat of the Egibi Business Tablets
by VM44 incould the watchtower and the jehovah's witnesses survive the discarding of their 1914 doctrine?
the doctrine that in 1914 the end of the gentile times took place, jesus took up rule in heaven.
for some reason the jws think the outbreak of world war i in 1914 is proof their prophetic calculations were correct.

I still hold that the Babylonian banking and business tables, of which the Egibi tablets are only portion of, establish once and for all the relative chronology of the Neo-Babylonian time period. The tablets also show there are no "extra" kings to account for a "missing" 20 year period required to get the year 607. I really don't understand why the matter is not settled once and for all.
VM44 ---
As you know, the matter IS settled in the world of scholarship. Outside of the WTS, there is no dispute regarding the relative chronology of the neo-Babylonian empire.
There are literally thousands of contemporary dated cuneiform tablets which establish the relative chronology.
In May 2000 Professor Janos Everling listed 7,797 dated neo-Babylonian tablets which have been catalogued for the following kings:
Nabopolassar -- 485 dated tablets
Nebuchadnezzar II -- 2,828 dated tablets
Amel-Marduk -- 167 dated tablets
Neriglissar II -- 249 dated tablets
Labashi-Marduk --- 12 dated tablets
Nabonidus -- 3,915 dated tablets(plus an additional 141 damaged tablets with reconstructed dates)

Dozy: It is entirely possible , especially relating to dating of events 2,600 years ago , based on perhaps 2 or 3 primary sources which may have been related on each other , that the historians have got this date wrong.
Dozy ---
PMFJI. 2 or 3 primary sources? There are literally thousands and thousands of contemporary dated cuneiform tablets which establish the names and regnal lengths of the neo-Babylonian kings. Ann O'Maly is correct when she says the neo-Babylonian chronology is established independently of Ptolemy's Canon.
As of May 7, 2000, there were 7,797 dated texts from the neo-Babylonian period which had been catalogued. (Source: Janos Everling's "Chronological List of Texts from the First Millennium B.C. Babylonia.")
