Each one of us ex-JWs have lived a life telling you that there are certain things that you should or should not do. But we all have a freedom of choice. We can now live our lives to the fullest. We have by either by our own choice or by our families choices, have been deprived of some of the most wonderfull things in life. We each can have our own identity now, we don't need an organization to tell us how to live. may we all live to the best of our abilities and make up for what we have missed.

What is Christmas to an Ex-JW?

if you were raised a jw, as my children were, getting used to christmas takes time, and does not carry with it any memories.
for others who became jws later in life, it took time to get over christmas and learn to discredit the custom and lose feelings for it, and in some cases even learn to hate christmas as an evil pagan evoluton of apostate christianity.. .

Had my first bible study
by Frantic ina long one at 3 hours!
i was extremely tired at the end, however, probably due to lack of sleep the night before.
found it interesting, we opened with a prayer, thanking jehovah for drawing me here today.

What a blessing to leave the Cult

its been a good year, not only have we left the cult but so have most of our family.
its wonderful to finally be free of the hateful/doublefaced society and to finally see how others worship the almighty god.

It is very sad that the WTS targets the inexperienced ones for their work. They are just like a lion looking for the easiest prey to devour. The WTS looks for the lame or the young or the sick and makes them grand promeses and dupes them into doing their bidding. This makes me sick!!!

I really feel for him he's got a long hard road ahead. Especially being mislead for his whole life. His whole world will be turned upside down. Just let him know that many others who have gone down this road will be there for him in his time of need. We will try to show him what "true" brotherly love is about. Just try to prepare him for the shock that he is going to receive and try to be there for him yourself.
It may be expensive but I need to make up for almost 26 years of lost time.
