Bious, NPR is NOT a balanced source of news...it's quite left of center. C-SPAN...isn't really a news channel.
Yeru - 1st - I disagree (what a surprise!) with your characterization of NPR. 2ndly, re: cSpan, my point exactly ... it is an information channel by which we can form opinions as opposed to 'news' channels which spin tiny pieces of information.
Simon - I agree, can we focus on 2004?

Richie, you're right about cSpan for the most part. They also do shows where they read (literally) the latest newspaper reports on key topics (from a variety of print sources) and then host alternating callers (Repub, Democrat, Indep) to receive opinions and feedback. The reason I prefer cSpan and NPR is it is much less opinions and posturing, and predominantly just a presentation of the facts for the listener or observer to interpret.
NPR is National Public Radio, I'm sure it is broadcast in Canada and there is an extensive internet site.
As you probably already know, in the US, FOX is considered to be as right wing as most of the lefties you mentioned in your posts.

Charlie-Hebdo...? I am not familiar with it, but it has piqued my curiousity. I will investigate! thanks, Narkissos
It is interesting that there are no American or English citings. Many of my French friends use the press to improve/maintain their English.... and acquire ammunition for their silly American friends

Yes I meant it: FOX News gives the most reliable and balanced information compared to all the media available in the USA. Mind you, MSNBC is not that bad either but doesn't come close to FOX. The rest is pitiful and biased against any Republican sympathizer, which is why many people are confused politically and have the tendancy to be anti-Bush.
Guess you haven't heard of or listened to NPR...cSpan....

I agree with you Xena....
Sorry I don't think anyone, child or not, was traumatized by seeing a boob...or the dancing for that matter. Dry humping has been around for awhile in dance ... "The Freak" in the 80s ... all of this hootin and hollerin....
If your morality doesn't include TV or what is on it nowadays, turn it off. It was widely broadcast that the 1/2 time show was produced by MTV...what did anyone expect?
The same people that bemoan boobs, sex, etc. more often than not set their kids loose on Terminator, Speed, Jean Claude van Damme and Steven Seagall.....sblood, murder, violence ... all more appealing .... hmmmmm....
Television is a poison in society for the most part anywayz.....generations of overweight drones will soon overrun us all!! lol

Phantom S., I agree with you about The Oregonian....although I've only been in Portland a few months, I've family here and have seen the Oregonian for some time....never struck a chord with me. I prefer smaller local papers too. Willamette Week and others seem more like SF Bay Guardian though. I'm trying to find smaller papers of interest, any recommendations? I'm surprised Oregon doesn't have more of an offering. My uncle used to be the editor of the News Times, a weekly I believe but I'm not sure it is still around. hmmm, I'll have to follow-up on that.
