actually, the men who wrote (as in made up) the bible said that about their made up god.

One Reason Why I Worship the God of the Bible
by snowbird inwhile this may be construed as a rebuttal to nvr's thread re: why i post about atheism, that is not my intent.. it is my intent, however, to show how i developed a belief in and love for the god of the bible.. my paternal grandfather, who died before i was born, was a baptist preacher, so you could say i cut my teeth on the bible.
i loved having it read to me, and once i learned how, reading it for myself.
i'm convinced that spirituality runs deep in my blood.. i've always had such a strong sense of right and wrong that injustices make me literally sick.

oh, and I recently temporarily renounced my devout atheism to join the order of Saint Cupcake, the patron saint of sweetness. For now, I am devoted to the holy lady of the spatula ... who blesses us with her creations ... the hot fudge vanilla is my particular favorite. I'm only a novice, but hope to rise through the ranks of buttercream, red velvet, banana, lemon and coconut cream.

what a wise and reasoned answer from (what appears to be) a very youthful poster. Very eloquently stated. As well as logical. And reasonable.

After what MOST on this forum have experienced at the hands of this so called "god's" believers and supporters of the bible ... supposed documentation of the horrors wrought upon this so called "god's" same creation ...
well, defense of said so called "god" and the teachings of "his" purported message to mankind, the bible, are somewhat sickening. Perhaps even more than somewhat. Sickening, disrespectful and insulting, to boot.
