Some resurrection thoughts by CS Lewis
by bebu intoday's entry from "the business of heaven", a book of daily readings of cs lewis, regards the resurrection account of christ, and how the account of christ eating fish with the disciples after he resurrected raise problems.
how could a ghost eat?
the disciples did not expect jesus to come visit, and their worldview did not hold to ghosts with working stomachs.

Cholesterol and heart disease myth or reality?
by greendawn infor the last 40 years the idea that cholesterol (and saturated fats) clog up the arteries and cause heart disease has predominated yet hundreds of scientists and doctors now doubt whether this is indeed the case e.g.
half the people that suffer heart attacks have ?normal?
cholesterol levels.

Daniel's Prophecy, 605 BCE or 624 BCE?
by Little Bo Peep inhello all, i've been reading your site for a couple of years now, and have found, for the most part, it to be very helpful.
i must say, at first i was very "scared" at what i might find, but contrary to what i grew up learning, there is a "wealth" of information outside of the watchtower organization.
i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.

Scholar has stuck around this thread longer than usual. Maybe he will finally stick around long enough to learn something.

A comment I heard tonight
by Generic Man intonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.
the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.
through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

I know what you mean Marjorie. Sometimes things get a little rough but Scholar does have a way of rubbing a person the wrong way when he will not answer direct questions when asked and keeps coming back with points discussed many times before and answered. He is a master at evading questions and making ad hominem attacks instead of dealing with the facts.

GB member Dan Sydlik's Exile
by Black Man ini was talking to an ex-bethelite who was at the 'big house' in the late 60s and early 70s and he mentioned that daniel sydlik was exiled (asked to leave bethel) for a couple years when he married his wife (who at the time was very young and very much his junior).
according to this ex-bethelite, his marriage was somewhat controversial and they didn't want it to stumble anyone at the time, so he still stayed in the nyc area, but just not in bethel?
of course, this was when they had the corporation director format and before they officially adopted the governing body structure.
