I think Scholar is just blowing smoke up peoples hoodakies for fun. He knows by now the illogicalness of his reasoning.

Sorry, another 607 question? I'm confused.
by lost_light06 inim trying to figure something out concerning the wts 607-1914 chronology that has me confused.
i thought they based the chronology on when jerusalem was destroyed.
however, the following is taken from the daniel book and it seems to base it on something else.

What are your favorite WT misquotes?
by ithinkisee inwe hear a lot on this board how the society likes to misquote scientists, encyclopedias, and so forth.
.
what are your favorite and most offensive misquotes from the society when you went to do some fact-checking?

Alan wrote:In the 1944 book The Kingdom Is At Hand, the Society displays a chronological chart in which the date of Jerusalem's destruction is shown as 607 B.C. There is a footnote which claims that the date was changed from 606 to 607 B.C. on a specific page in the 1943 book The Truth Shall Make You Free. But that book says nothing of the kind. So the Society is here even misquoting its own literature.
Did they simply miss the page number or is it completely non existent?

That was a great article. We need many more articles such as that one out there for people to see just what the Society is doing.

Newbie question; Why do JW hypocrites PROVE that they're a cult?
by psycsnacha inhello, i discovered this site yesterday and have been on it for hours!
i've been studying with jehovah's witnesses for 4 years and quite frankly love it.
a bit of background, i am a college educated young man (have a bs in psychology) and am currently a medical student.

Wow! That same spirit that unites the Body of Christ also teaches those who are united! Not the Watchtower. Not the myriad of other books and tracts and blah, blah, blah, ad infinitum. The spirit. That is what unifies the body of Christ, and that is what teaches true Christians who have learned enough to listen to its leadings.
AuldSould wrote above.
How do you account for the myriads of separate doctrines of many claiming to be led by HS?
Is the spirit confused or the people claiming to be led by it hallucinating, or do you have a different perspective?

Scholar wrote:
The Bible as with secular documents uses a regnal based approach as their chronology in the Ancient World, the difficulty and challenge is to convert the data into our modern calender. Also the biblical data does not always agree with secular data and this the reason for the twenty year gap between the Bible and the Babylonians.
scholar JW
Right and that is why God does not expect us to put secular and biblical history together to try to come up with an end time prophecy. It would be ridiculous.

What things can I show that can "prove" the JW's are not the "only true"

i've got lots of good information.
so now, what other things can i use that will help my case.

-Why are books and articles written by the Society said to have been part of the fullfillment of Bible prophecy when they are no longer even produced? Are not the Sacred pronouncements of God more accurate than a few years.
Which ones are you referring to?

I don't think of our creator as a sick bastard as I once did, I just realized he or IT came created then split, or died, or something.
So you dont believe that he or IT will come back or decide to fix things at some point in the future or take us to heaven?
I really wonder about that as well. He seems to have left the building.
