It's easier not to judge

i was talking with my mother-in-law this evening and came upon an intriguing thought.

it's less stressful now that i'm not expected to judge other people.

i know we're all human and still do judge other people even subconsciously - but i mean, not being expected to pigeon-hole individuals into categories.

I agree. Being a JW means that you are required to judge everyone that isn't a JW, as "worldly", for starters, as if we were so much better or smarter than they. Since I left, I have much more love and tolorance of others, and while I am (we are) all passing judgements about other people at any given time, they are mostly values judgements in my case. I am free of the responsibility of condemning them to death at Armageddon for not being a JW.

Phewwwwww, I am glad those days are over.

All you spies and lurkers: why are you here? Some of you are honest hearted people who have doubts, and as Stuart Smally says, "that's OK". There is a reason you have doubts and you should listen to your inner voice. It is not the demons telling you it's all wrong, believe me. The voices you hear is common sense trying to break the surface.

I have never felt to freer and more liberated since I made my mind over to leave the organization. The "truth" almost killed two of my children through the actions and attitudes of their JW mother, stepfather, and some igorant elders and some limited narrow counsel from the WT publications, and if there are demons lurking about, they are definitely in the org.

Should obesity be a DF offense?

a headline on today's usa today says that obesity is the #1 killer.

if being fat is such a health risk (like cigarettes), why don't the jws disfellowship people for being obese?.

i know in some cases, people gain weight due to medical problems that are hard to control.

There was an elder in my congration as a kid, his name was Pat McCormack. He was HUGE, and he could hardly get up onto the platform for a part. Not one person ever said that it was a medical condition, therefore, he must have been a glutton.

My exwife and her current husband, Mark & Sara Meier, are documented child abusers, still in good standing with the Valley Congregation, PO'd by a sheltered, coddled, ignorant schmuck by the name of John-David Johnston. JD Johnston was recently presented with documentation showing the hell these two fanatical JW kook parents put my children through and has not lifted a finger to protect my young ones. (One of my daughters has a 12th grade class with his daughter.) I had to go to the worldly authorities to get any relief and justice for my babies, and I now have custody of them.

During a 3 hour meeting with the Family Law Court Mediator, my JW X-wife lied about the kids, me, and her conduct and behavior and protected her fat, drunken slob of an abusive husband. She lied like the Governing Body says Satan lies.

Here I am ELDERS. I am coming out to let you know that I oppose you and I am putting you and the Society on notice that you had better stay the hell away from my kids. It is my ultimate aim to get my children as far from your lies and your hypocracy as I possibly can. If you ever try to counsel my children again I will go after you with everything I have.

I lived with my wife for 4 years before we made it legal by purchasing a piece of paper with our names on it. We were completely and totally committed, i.e., good and married long before we asked the state of California to recognize that fact for $75.00.

Hebrews 13:4 states: "Let marriage be honorable among all, and the marriage bed be without defilement, for God will judge fornicators and adulterer."

I am sorry, but I do not read, "If you are living together without being legally married, you are committing fornication."

I loved my wife from the first week of knowing her and knew we would become one until death. Eight years later, we are still just as in love and the best of friends. The commitment we made in the beginning, when we decided to live together has not changed and the marriage certificate we purchased has not altered our love and commitment in any way, and neither has it effected our relationship with eachother, our friends, and our children. A marriage certificate does not ensure the sanctity and fidelity of your marriage does it?

When Hebrews was written, did first century Christians have to go to the governmental authorities in order ot have God recognized and approve of your commitment to each other?

well, last week at my mother in law?s meeting, a letter was read, which was subsequently relayed to us (and any other heathens who might have transgressed the list of holy hotels).

Yes, "running ahead of Jehovah's Organization" by staying at a hotel not sanctioned by the boys is a form of "independent thinking". Yikes!

I worked in the hotel industry for years, and I hated "groups" then, I hate "groups" now. They are such a pain in the butt and between the group reservationist and the group leader setting up the group rez, things rarely went smooth to begin with. I much prefer to pay a couple extra bucks rather than have to deal with the crap at a group rate.

i am riding on the same bus carrying a butt-load of x-jw's who take exception to the lies and mind-f@#%ing of the org.

i was blasted by some for asserting that there are hidden and subliminal images in the illustrations used in the wt publications, and that is fine.

i also understand that there are more important issues than hidden images in the wt publications.

Ha ha, Ok, the thing was not my subliminal images posts, it was just an example, and I never had to get over being raked on it.

I do appreciate everyone's input, views, humor, sarcasm, venting, etc, and this forum has been good for me. I may have misunderstood the tone of what I called "silly threads" and for that I apologize.
