would appreciate any info or experiences on this subject.... a brother is disfellowshipped, 2 years later reinstated, five years later disfellowshipped again, immorality, 4 years later reinstated, becomes elder, 8 years later runs off with pioneer 16 yr old , divorces wife , dumps girl, remarrys 5 years later, appointed elder again, i believe due to the buddy system, how many times do'es a person have to be disfellowshipped before they say no to any priveledges let alone being an elder again ?
I want to serve Jehovah.

Yes OrangeBlossom
I remember....
a brother who committed adultery would still be considered an adulterer until his former wife remarried and therefore could never be recommended as an elder as long as he was an adulterer.
His former wife was still unmarried and would have taken him back.
For example I was told when I remarried, that I had "legalized my adultery." My first wife would have taken me back. She says she will never remarry.
So as you, I cannot understand that it is possible for an elder to continue to be recommended -
sue: you commented to my post about elders sins, by saying that the co may have been giving his own opinion.
the typical jw response is to always direct the problems identified to some individual or to some local problems not common among other jws.
here are some important points that you and other dubs need to understand:.
I agree here with Sue.
I add; those in glass houses should not throw stones.
I think Michael Schumacher will make it again.
Frentzen has lost his fight. Poor Eddy!
But what has happened to Mercedes this year?

Yes, you hit it!
I am also tired. Must get off the computer.
The first committee said they saw evidence of repentance.
But it was too soon. The second just said NO!
My complaining was about this situation. Poor me. Why me etc.
But that was wrong. They were correct. My attitude at the second
was as you said larc "you had not humbled yourself". Thanks, this
helps too.

Attitude problem:
I was always complaining and thought it was a personal matter that they did not reinstate me. I had served in that congregation for 20 years and was PO when I fell suddenly into sin.
The committee, kindly informed me that it was not what I did that kept me out, but my attitude and complaining.
I see that now. No complaints. No reprisals. I accept the counsel.
I believe now that the elders (in my case) are acting correctly.
I hope this answers your question.

I agree with Sue and larc.
If this person would become an elder again,
it would harm the congregations spirit.
jnc is right to be concerned.

Hi all,
I am new to this site:
I have been following it for some weeks now.
I just had to comment here.
I was an elder and now disfellowshipped.
My error. They were correct. No excuses. I did wrong.
I am trying to get back-in.
The committee here is very strict. I have had two hearings.
in two years. I know now what I am to work on. My attitude.
(Sue, I notice you have had an attitude problem. Could you also
be like me trying to fight it?)
I really don't understand how this person could be appointed as an elder again. Or that anyone would want to appoint him. I would not want to work along side such a man. (thinking back to my 20 years as an elder).
jnc, I see you are not making a big thing here, but are concerned and so would I be. In my situation, I don't want to become an elder again. It is the furthest thing from my mind. I want to serve Jehovah again. I therefore do not understand the heart attitude of this person.
how many have read the report 1034 from nazi germany?.
this was hitlers thought that jw's were preaching.
the bible and not giving in to him as the rc's and other .
Checked it out. Sue is right.
Hitler hated the Bible-searchers as he called them.
Have any seen the WTS video?
