  omg what happened?

  have i been asleep that long???

  i got up this morning and looked at my clock and there it was plane as day... feb 9th, 2009. it can't be wrong... it's one of those clocks that sets itself to some atomic clock somewhere that is broadcasting the time.. what the hell happened???

  Dental X-Rays

  every time i go to the dentist they insist on taking x-rays, i see no need.

  if you go every six months and get x-rays are you getting overexposure to the effects?

  are x-rays a good cash grab for the dentist?.

  I do not wish to be alarmist, but a recent article on the BBC News might be of interest. The chance of getting cancer from X-rays is very slight, but non the less. Is this your dental practitioner just doing this procedure to boost your medical bill?

  GREATEST music put to a movie (in one particular scene)

  well........nothing comes close to sigur ros "untitled 4" "track 4" of the untitled album.

  the movie is vanilla sky and its the final scene where tom cruise is on the rooftop with penelope, lee, russell and that other guy.

  for those who havent watched the movie, it is highly recommened along with the album "(( ))" by "sigur ros".

  The soundtrack to the 1971 film Get Carter starring Michael Caine. It was composed on a budget of £450 by the musical genius Roy Budd. It's all superb, but my favourite track is the main theme, Carter gets the Train, a funky double bass rhythm merging with the sounds of the train journey.

  The other track which stands out is out of Apocalypse Now, where Martin Sheen is waiting for orders, slowly going mad in his room. The soundtrack is The End by the Doors and the thudding helicopter rotor blades; I never really understood that piece of music until I saw the film.

  for all those curious, here's a look at the new 2003 report.

  jehovah's witnesses have been growing, but not a whole lot.

  a peak of 6,429,351 publishers reported preaching in 235 lands.

  Personally, I don't believe a word of the statistics.

  Firstly, they come from the society itself. There is no external or public check of the numbers. Each congregation posts off its figures, I presume weekly, to the society. Everyone knows their little bit, but not whole picture. Who audits these figures? No one.

  Secondly, you fakers. One faker would make the figures invalid. There are thousands out there, if not millions. You cannot interpret numbers when the data is flawed, as it obviously is.

  Thirdly, the society can put whatever numbers it likes into the latest statistics. IMHO they are only there as a nice little motivator for the R&F. It would not be good for morale if a too bad drop in figures was reported. I know it has in the past, but the WBTS is trying to stop a drip, not an exodus. A drip is easier to hide.

  Fourthly, they reported a 2% growth in the US. Now how can you square that with the anecdotal evidence in Metradons thread "The Watchtower Attendance Crisis" which is still live on the Board? Is there 2% growth, for every 100 Witnesses 2 joined last year? Or is there a decline? Someone is telling fibs.

  Fifthly, the figures which would really make a difference and could be audited is the financial statement. Now that would be worth seeing. It would give a more accurate picture of the growth and state of the Org, but we are never likely to see that are we?

  i remember going to the hall in the 70's and we had lots of windows.

  Flipping off an elder's wife

  a couple of days ago, i was running a few errands before a meeting with my professor.

  i was in such a happy mood, chatting with the store clerk about the weather, etc.

  when i turned around to leave, there was the elder's wife, standing in the middle of the store, staring at me with undisguised venom.
