Where are you on the map? New Maps
by Lady Lee inok there are so many americans on the map now i had to split you all in half.. valis was kind enough to let me place the maps on his website until i found a new home for them.. photobucket seems to be a good option - at least for now.
so i have uploaded the new maps which have been updated to include everyone who has asked.. so if you were wondering where we are from.
or how close you are to other jwd posters in your area just take a look.

The Tsunami: A Time For New Architechture?
by Valis inyou know after the tsunami, i started thinking about discussions and ideas our good friend jim_tx talks about sometimes.
maybe some of the architechtural damage could have been avoided by stuff that "went w/the flow" as it were.
i was imagining islands covered w/domes instead of hut like or even regular style asian buildings.

I think if buildings along coastlines were constructed to function to cut through water like the upturned hull of a boat, and deflect and route it a certain way, I think that would be a move forward, but the foundation of the buildings would really have to be addressed, and certainly if it were domes, they would probably need to be to fixed to the bedrock to withstand the initial blast water.
I think wedge shapeed buildings would be better, as the water would just rush over them, even if they were a few stories high.
I think coupled with the above, and an early warning system it would also make sense to have underground basements which are tsunami proof.

Is Jehovah the God of "Impartial Love"??
by frankiespeakin ini think most would agree that real true love has to be impartial,,no favoritism,,completely fair,,equal concern,, reguardless of race,,nationality,,or even species.. yet when we read the bible what do we find?
we find god hating no only singled out persons, but entire nationalities.
he even tell his people to sacrifice innocent animals for sins,,i don't know about you but i see a big discrepancy here, if god is supposed to be impartial.

Silent prayers
by JustTickledPink ini always had a difficult time with the whole silent prayers issue.. i was always told since i was little that if you prayed to god that he always listens, and that you can pray silently in your head to yourself and he listens.
to me that never quite made sense that he was reading my thoughts, are you sure he hears prayers?
the answer, "if he created your brain, he can surely access it and any prayers" of course that was also used "if you are thinking bad thoughts god can read your mind" etc... and quote the scripture that even if you "lust after a woman" meaning no action, only thought - you were in big trouble!.

i think prayer is a form of self induced mind control or self programming.

Were you the owner of a lonely pet?
by JH in.
i knew so many jw's who were always gone in the service or at the meetings and week end long conventions, that their poor pets were always alone.. i really felt sorry for these pets.
i was no exception, and today regret leaving my pet alone all these days.. i guess that the jw org doesn't encourage jw's to have pets, because they want all the attention.. were your pets lonely in your jw days?.

How many do you think there really are?
by ConcernedMom inwhenever i hear anyone referring to "false" gods or "the one true" god, it reminds me of the old game show to tell the truth.
#1: i am the one true god.
#2: i am the one true god.

i think if there is a god, mankind does not even have a concept for what it is.
