there is a guy at work that i had heard was a jw, so i was working with him and we had a few laughs talking and joking around so i was starting to pry and get it out of him that he was a jw, also i had heard a few things and wanted to ask him as well.
so i asked what he did for christmas and he avoided the question and then i said, "oh yeah your a jehovahs witness" and he said he was, right after he said "but i got some good presents" (admitting your a jw seemed to be awkward for him) as he is the only jw in his family.
i told him that my parents were as well and my grandparents went to the same hall as he did many years ago.
my g/f is marked and on private-reproof because of me, so i told her a peice of my mind about it. its just messed up that loyalty towards an organization comes before happiness and love....stupid corproations
btw, thats a good point to bring across to any witness is that the love and happiness towards one another will fade and die when they become a jehovah's witness. everyone's miserable inside and doesn't know what being happy is really about because they are told how to be happy.
i've been lurking here for a few months now, and i've been wanting to post for awhile now but i've never really been up to it.
i first stumbled upon the information about the wtbts being an ngo for 10 years in september, and ever since i've been finding out about all the other things the society has been up to.
as of now, i'm still going to the meetings, but now my eyes have been truly opened, and i can see things in a whole new perspective, and it's amazing the deception that's going on in the organization.
yep, waaassup bee. i've been here 2 weeks, but i know it all now. but i'm in pretty much your situation (give or take a g/f and her family and such). I'm not baptised tho (ty god =D) you'll start seeing the picture clearer. i was in oral communications calss today and the teacher said that if you hear words like, everybody, nobody, actually, evidentally (etc etc etc), that a lightbulb in your head should pop up and question, because if they say these words, they are ALWAYS (heh, imagine the irony) going to be wrong. welcome and good luck in your research.
i just had the strangest experience at the dentist.
i went to have a cavity filled and the dentist gave me nitrous - as usual.
i have taken nitrous at the dentist many times with really good results.
na, when the dentist gets me high i just think. it helps me, at least i think
there must be hundreds of thousands of current jw's who haven't planned for retirement.
i know that i was "in" the troof til my mid-forties and always believed what's the point?
didn't they tell us that advanced degrees were useless?
thats one of the first things i want to do when i get out of law school is sue the society for taking the futures away from people that had lots of potential to change the world. instead they was forced to listen to commie bastards (I.E. the USSR) about how great they are and what they promise and whatnot. Sounds like a good idea to me.

heh, scandals are everywhere, it just depends on if you want to find them or not. i know it happens around here, but i don't know what they are because i don't want to know. i think the whole religion is a scandal in itself.
on another thread, elsewhere said that he didn?t like going door to door, especially since he didn?t believe in what he preached.
i was a little surprised by his statement because i, on the other hand, did believe in what i preached.
i don?t think i would have been able to preach something i didn?t believe in.
I couldn't go out in service now because i don't believe in 1914, the FDS, the "annointed". I don't believe that blowjobs are bad, and i believe that if you can get disfellowshipped for smoking (na i don't smoke), that you should be disfellowshipped for being obese (no i'm not overweight either). Because they are both the same thing. So it'd be hard to go preach door to door now, going and telling all the little kids that you'll die if a girl decides to give you a BJ or somethin....thats just evil, something all the little boys look up to =D

i actually thought when i was a little kid that i would be able to play nintendo all day and drink cheap soda (because tahts all my friends mom bought us when we played video games). Every kids dream, soda and nintendo. Every teenagers dream, beer and sex. Every adults dream...well same as teenagers =P

i was talking to my twin sister tonight on how i didn't want to go to the upcoming convention this weekend because we had already been to it 2 months ago... .
i have to prepare some audition matrial for a arts event and my parents are not sympathtic to the fact i got allot to do, and we've already been.
my g/f is in the same situation (well kinda). maybe you can change something for her. sometimes it takes something that effects their lives for them to open up (such as you leaving). If you've been around JW's your whole life, then you decide to fade away, then they will think that there's something up and something wrong. so who knows, i just don't suggest going back to the organization or else you'll have your life controlled the rest of your existence. heh.
i've been listening to marlene mercado's audio testimony on jwinfoline while reading and posting here today; and it reminded me that i had written to the society once, years ago, and i received a response.
the response made me angry with them, although they were agreeing with me on something that i was complaining about.
what made me angry was that they made no acknowledgment that they put a lot of pressure on the brothers to reach out and even after they have attained an office of oversight, a lot more pressure is put on the elders and servants to do more, do just so, etc....they claimed that it was my elder husband's own fault that he was barely ever home, and when he was, he was in his den or on the phone with someone who couldn't make any decisions on their own.
I thought about writing them, but i know the answers' that i would get, so i decided to say flagpole it.

i needed to tell all of you how much you have helped me.
i too, have been hurt by the jw's.
if i wasn't raised in a divided household i wouldn't know anything but how to be a JW. its kinda wierd because my dad gave me all the freedom i wanted (even tho it came w/ other consequences ) and my mom was the JW that made every meeting and went out in service. I remember a member in the congregation coming up to me a few months ago and say, you know, with all the knowledge that you have, and you still find this the real truth, i'm amazed. i quit making every meeting after that one.
