New picture on this weeks Bookstudy
by Connaughty ini'm curious as to why the picture in the new revelation book, on this weeks schedule, seems to be different than the original version.
does anyone know why?
it shows completely two different individuals, but the same background.

Curious-Anyone know if Charles Sinutko/Phil Hayworth are still in ......?
by fedorE ini used to collect audio tape talks and came to actually idolize ppl like sinutko....when he spoke it sounded like it was coming from heaven...he gave a talk on 1975 where he said, " i dont think the society has ever told you u couldnt read literature critical of the society...." wonder if he ever left or phil hayworth from australia, amazing speaker who's gave a talk on the last days of jesus and made it really personal...anyone know if this guy ever left?

I have been listening to talks by this Sinutko character recently myself. I really enjoy his speaking style a million miles away from the talks I remember. I would also like to know his status.

Will Vinyl Make A Comeback?
by brinjen inwas just flicking through the june issue of 'silicon chip' magazine (yes i'm a geek .
as there is no needle or anything making contact with the record, there is no wear or scratches happening during play.
it replays the sound in analog form, not digital.. http://www.elpj.com/.

The reality is a belt driven, well engineered turntable outperforms musically any CD player at it's price level and most above. The problem is one of function. People want to control music throughout the house now, they want it on demand wherever they are, this is only successfully done digitally. Also with the advent of home cinema people expect multi-channel playback. Hillary_Step, I think it's time you thought about adding a lingo to that set-up.

Why label it a cult?
by rebel8 inwhat purpose does it serve?
it just seems to polarize people and ostracize those who aren't ready or willing to label it a cult.
anyone can look up the dictionary definition of a cult (or experts' definitions).

Cult is not a good term in my book. It's mostly used by people who have a religious agenda of their own anyway. I say it's best to normalise the witnesses as just another modern day religious movement or NRM (New Religious Movement). Praise them for what they get right but highlight their faults. Why give them the ammunition to think that the world is after them and wants them unfairly destroyed, JW's love that sort of thing, the baggage attached to the word Cult give them cause for that sort of reaction.

by Open mind ineven though you might think it's painfully obvious, explain why you chose your avatar and/or username.
it could help us faceless "netizens" get to know each other a little better.

I drink lots of peppermint tea. As for the picture, The Clash / Joe Strummer is the soundtrack to my youth...it makes happy.

Weird Watchtower article, Russell's grave worship in the background
by needproof inso just about everybody here knows that russell had some sort of obsession with the pyramids, and his gravestone serves as that embarassing reminder to his false prophecy, shaped like a pyramid itself.
and this is why i found this image on a awake!
magazine of 2005 quite disturbing.

It's a little unfortunate that its presented as a pyramid but as the article says the model is a representation of the purple triangle badge.
