I love wasting my time with online surveys.
Just now I found this site. findyourspot.com. You feed it with a whole load of information and it tells you where you should live in the USA.
Now, not being American and knowing this country as little as I do, I am wondering if my results are correct, is this my ideal spot?
So those of you who live there or near tell me, should I move to:
MORGANTON, NORTH CAOLINA.
What does this result say about me? Should I pack my bags now, or stay where I am? -

During a study of the evolution/Creation book, the brother reading got the word for organism wrong.
Another time a brother made a mess of a closing prayer, and decided to end it with the holy words, oh shit. -

Hope it works this time.

Did apostates get you?

As a Jehovah?s Witness how did you respond to apostates?
Do you recall from your past any chance encounters with one? Did this actually lead to you leaving the truth?
Or did you put your hands over your ears and run away?
I can remember a couple of examples from my past.
Twickenham assembly London.
A couple of apostates rushed the stage trying to get to the microphone, they didn?t make it and were led away, they then passed right in front of us and were trying to shout something. Everyone in the crowd responded by clapping loudly and cheering to block out any sound.
My Work.
A new manager took over at my place of work, he was a really nice guy until I found out that he used to be a witness.
He then started to talk to me about such thing as 1975 etc. Well I just got up and left my job. He even tracked me down at my next job and would show up from time to time, not speaking about the truth anymore but just being friendly.
I would like to meet these people now.
I?m sure the Internet has increased the average JW?s exposure to so-called apostates considerably, which is excellent.
But the examples I want to hear are when people have really not been looking and apostates have found them. And how they responded. -

Follow the Star All the Way to Bethlehem
by Schizm inthe report below serves as an excellent example of the shallow understanding that people in general have regarding the so-called "star of bethlehem".
notice that the "star" is held in awe ... some sort of an object that satan himself caused to glow in the dark in order to cause the premature death of jesus.
satan's worst nightmare is jesus, was back then, and still is.

Where did the Bethlehem star come from?
Well as far as that one goes, I may have some important information for you.
http://www.rael.org/
Seriously these guys believe the star was a flying saucer. Check out some of their videos on the Real-TV link on their site. The first one ?The Prophets & Ancient Evidence? makes some interesting statements.
Barking mad! But interesting. -

This is the first year I have sent any at all.
I have just got one from the neighbour two doors down, last minute so to speak. But I have not sent her one.
Tell me what is the etiquette here. Should I quickly send her one back? It?s going to be obvious that I am just responding to her card. If I don?t send one would this be considered worse?
This same neighbour has also called round twice with the red poppy collection, both times I mumbled something and shut the door quickly JW style.
Personally on that score I still wouldn?t take part, but my actions seemed to be remote controlled by an inbuilt Watchtower instinct rather then coming from my own will.
One day I will explain all to my neighbour?and then she will think I?m really mad. -

Ninety Years Ago Today
by Duncan inon bbc radio 4?s today programme this morning, they were covering the extraordinary events of ninety years ago, christmas day 1914, in the no-man?s-land between the trenches in world war i. .
in the first christmas of that terrible war some british and german soldiers, close enough in their trenches to hear each other, began to sing carols and call out to their opponents.
soldiers ventured over the parapets and met with their enemies, laughing and joking, sharing songs, even exchanging gifts.

Duncan.
I thought that was a nice way of putting it:
?My wish for the coming year is that the basic, inbuilt human impulse to good sense, kindness, and a balanced sense of proportion will continue to seep through among the millions of decent Jehovah?s Witnesses.?
We cannot get away from the fact that there are millions of decent people caught up in a crazy belief system. Our anger needs to be directed at those who take the lead and control the troops, so to speak.
I personally hate it when Jehovah?s witnesses are collectively labelled as losers or stupid just for being one. This is something I have encountered on various boards, not so much this one.
On a different note it?s nice to see another resident of the northern Home Counties on the board, beginning to think I was on my own down here. -
