I am envious, I have to wait until my wife finishes college before I can go back to college. At the rate she is going, it will be quite a wait too.

MANDATORY Reporting of Child Abuse
by silentlambs init appears there are a few misconceptions when it comes to the reporting of child abuse.
the federal law child abuse prevention and treatment act (capta)(jan. 1996 version), 42 u.s.c.
failure to report can result in civil liability.

They didn't hug us and tell us they cared about what we were feeling.
They asked us to describe our role in this "sin".
And more than anything else, while they did the right thing in disfellowshipping our abuser, they publicly reproved our mother for not having disclosed to them!!!!I would be willing to attribute the first 2 sentences to the fact that you were dealing with untrained, unskilled elders who were probably thumbing their way through the situation.
But the last sentence, I don't see a problem with. I'm sorry that I haven't followed or looked up any of your previous threads, so I don't know the details of what you are speaking about. But if the "innocent" parent does hold back from reporting a crime like this, I would be inclined to hold them somewhat responsible. -

So would a solution be to have a BOE letter telling elders that if they know of an allegation that they should inform the family that, although the elders are not required, the law requires the family to report the case?

Seeker4,
Society settled it quietly, out of court. There are many such examples, and it's really the same dispicable way the CC handled things.
Actually, I think I would prefer both organizations to handle these out of court. This is can be viewed as an admission of guilt and it frees up the court system. Also, it is obviously up to those bringing charges against the organization to decide if they will settle. If they're for it, then I think it's a great way to settle.
The obvious negative impact is that it shows the prosecuting party is either more interested in money or fearful of time in court than they are in creating public knowledge about any problems in the organization. -

Response to Pathofthorns
by silentlambs ini have watched the intentional effort by pathofthorns to defend wt policy and create misinformation regarding the silentlambs effort.
are you being paid by wt for your lies?
why do you create boundaries for silentlambs and question them when you know as well as i that we do not stand or take that position?.

[quote]People in the congregation need to be warned about a pedophile in their midst, and I don't care whether heshe is convicted or not. I don't see any reason to let children be endangered to protect the organization's good name. [quote]Please tell me if I understand this correctly. You think that an accused pedophile should be identified to the whole congregation, even if he is not convicted, no matter if he was not convicted because a court of law did not find him guilty?
If so, I don't think that is possible without huge slander and defamation of character lawsuits.

British music rocks, It's official (rebuttal)
by Preston innever ever, ever confuse greatness with popularity.
compared to music here in the u.s. british music is as good as it gets.
it's true that bands like pulp, suede, blur, oasis, manic street preachers, rarely get any airplay here in the states, but that's all i listen too.

Islam's hatred and agenda against black people

the color of one's skin has suddenly become relevant to religion.
muslim activists have been trying to convince african american citizens that islam is the religion of the black man, that islam is african and that mohammed was black.

No, the word is delusional. Go buy a dictionary, or better yet, maybe you can travel through England and become an expert on the English language.
You are right, I am a sad excuse for a black woman....especially since I'm a honkey and have a peepee.

There's probably just as many good US bands as UK bands, they just don't get the airplay over here.
Examples: Pavement, Flaming Lips, Elliot Smith, Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, Built to Spill. For some reason, they are the only ones popping into my head and I can't seem to think of any in the vein of Pulp, Suede, etc. By the way, this week's hot pick....Cornershop's Handcream for a Generation. And Iron Maiden?!?!?! Puh-puh-puh-please! They should have kept "runnin' for the hiiiiiiiiiiiills!!!!" (in my best high pitch shrill scream.)

You've fallen for AMC's race rhetoric again.
LOL. Again? Rhetoric? In that my posts were persuasive or pretentious? Either way, I'm flattered, I must be smarter than I thought.
