How are the Bible Students different from the JWs? Just curious. I see that it is a group in Portland.

it was a bit refreshing.
but this is just one study period, lunch, two discourses and a few breaks, so i just saw and felt what half-a-day in rural

by Sunspot inthe other day i received an email from a man in croatia, who sent me and someone else a copy of a picture from a wts magazine.
i wasn't quite sure about the contents, but it looked to be legitimate----but being in croatian i was not sure of what it actually said and i ended up putting it aside intending to check it out (if possible) and then forgetting all about it.
he had also sent this to another person, who went to the trouble of verifying the facts and getting an understanding of what was being said in the picture.

What first gave you doubts ?
by rick1199 inwe all know the big problems with the wts, but what was the first thing that made you realise there were problems with the organisation ?
with me it was realitivly small stuff like an 8 year old getting baptised and a comment my best mates made about another of our friends asking if we should be hanging round with her as she might be bad assciation (she had just been reproved, but they had been mates 20 years).. .
how ever the first time i ever thought something was really wrong was when i was about 11 and my grand farther died, and mu mum wouldn't go to the funeral, i remeber thinking that surely it was better to say good bye properly than worry about if the service was in a church.. .

I have small doubts though out the years but when I had health problems starting about the '90s and missed many meetings cuz of that. Then I fell on black ice and shattered my ankle and wasn't able to attend meetings for many months. I would see the JW's go door to door and not stop at my house. That really gave me doubts. Where was to love that they should have had. It took a few more years for me to completely leave.

I was a 3rd generation JW. I missed out on soooo much. I wasn't accepted by the world and worst yet not really accepted by the JW's. My dad wasn't a JW and that could have been part of it.

Being I'm a senior citizen and getting my late husbands social security from the age of 60, I don't care to get married and lose the social security. I have no problem with living with someone else although so far I haven't. It really is no ones business. Maca

witnesses say that this is just an illustration.. they forgot to tell you that all they're teachings are from illustrations that jesus used.
they use double speak in this regard.

When my husband passed away 7 years ago, there was an article in the Watchtower a couple months later about "taking care of the Widows and Orphans". I feel that I was the only one to have read it since I was ignored. That made me think that Borg didn't have any love. Of course that wasn't the only time I was ignored by Borg over the years. I can't help it if my father wasn't a "JW"...smart man huh!!
Then there was the time about 10 years ago I shattered my ankle and wasn"t able to make it to the KH for months. I wasn't able to go the the Memorial cuz no one noticed I wasn't there.
I feel that Jehovah was trying to tell me sometime...just took some time to soak in.
