JW's can't be part of anything at school.....they can't be part of the community in any way.....they can't be friends with outsiders (worldly people) and they don't have much to do with family that aren't JW's......go figure why they seem anti-social?

Jws seen to be anti-social
by badboy in.
i understand that jws are often seen as anti-social, as said by avenger,i think in one of his posts.. i also read in an article on the jwic site, that jws have acquired a reputation for being anti-social.
in what way are jws seen to be anti-social?

My Mom tried for years to get me back in. She tried the scare tactic (Armaggedon) and then she tried the sad tactic (she will be living in paradise without me) and then she got downright mad........and said I was not a good daughter turning her back on her mother.....

Hi, I'm new to the site, and kind of don't understand...
by my-journey ini was just curious as to the aim of this website?
i thought it was a discussion board for those interested in/ for jehovah's witnesses, but it seems like you're all former jehovah's witnesses?
so is this site just to bash jehovah's witnesses?

Welcome!
I don't like to think of this board as a hate site. You might think that, but it's simply not true. Some of us have been hurt more than others by the JW's. We come here to help eachother and support one another with problems from being a JW. What problems you might ask? First of all, I'll tell you mine. Most of my family are still in ther organization. They do not tolerate anybody that doesn't believe what the WTS says. I do not believe they have the "truth". I should not be punished for that. I have my own mind and I feel that it's up to me to decide. I was raised a JW and didn't have the choice to research. When I was finally able to do so, I was shunned.
I choose not to serve a God who is so demanding and cruel as to tell us to put our faith to the test and then destroy us when we do. I hope this makes sense. Please keep doing your research. This board is a wealth of information, not a hate site.
Again, welcome

Welcome Vessel!
You got me thinking with your comment "just like an abusive husband makes his wife feel like she is nothing apart from him". Thats exactly what the organization does! I never thought of it that way. I know you'll find lots of support here and laughs too! And.....we Are something apart from the organization. It takes time tho....

Which Way Did You Choose To Leave The Organization?
by minimus infor me it was the slow, purposeful fade....and you?
?

I did the slow fade and it took about 5 years. Now they pretty much leave me alone except for the Memorial invite
