Looking for some help
by ?£âzârú§?Çhùrçh? ini'm not a jehovah witness but my ex-wife is and so is her family there very devoted to the "truth" and her parents run her life and tried to run mine as well as my children's.. i'm a wheelchair user and i don't live as local as i'd like.
so far her parents have killed the marriage with pushing her to take our children to all meetings and conventions, using many excuses why she should take the children and as she is a devoted jehovah witness she listen's more to them then she ever did to me.
not letting me look after our children while she went to the meetings and knocking on doors trying to get people to listen she'd take them saying they want to see grandad/granny or the other children.

Get a good lawyer.....they can help set up your visitation rights. Since my cousin and his wife split, she no longer is a JW he is....he tried to keep the son away during holidays etc., (he has custody unfortuantely...long story), she finally got a good lawyer that set up 1/2 way boundries for them to meet as well as specific visitation times also, she gets him on all the holidays that he has off, specifically because her ex (my cousin-the JW) doesn't celebrate them anyway...so the judge ruled in favor of her having him on all holidays....the key is get a good lawyer that knows their stuff. What she is doing is unfair to you and to your kids....any judge will see that.
Good luck....I hope everything turns out well for you.

Hi,
I know how you feel, when I left, I felt discouraged about religeon, but still felt a spiritual void. I enjoyed just being outside, hiking, finding it in nature. Also, my roomate was a member of Unity and as skeptical as I was about going with her I found that I enjoyed it very much. Their concept is that God is One and there are many paths to finding him and each individual finds their own way, and no way is wrong. I never joined, there were some things that I couldn't get into there, but it got my spiritual wheels moving, gave me a little boost, helped me think and feel.
here is their website.....http://www.unityonline.org/index.htm
they're not real popular rather small in areas....I appreciated their concept. My husband is reformed Judaism.....now I go to temple although I never converted and do not plan too....I do enjoy going on occasions. My cousin (also a former JW) goes to a Methodist church, which she enjoys, they are quite liberal and not out to convert you...but again provides some spiritual guide.
Hope this helps it really comes down to finding what's right for you. Good luck

Do your acquaintances know you?re a JW (or former witness)?
by senselessly sane ini remember deliberately not telling people when i was growing up, and cringing when my mom made an effort to tell my teachers.
although i no longer hide it, there are still people i consider friends who do not know i grew up jw.
sometimes it?s just that the subject of religion does not come up often, and when it does, it would be weird to say something now after i?ve known someone for years and have never mentioned it.

I'm not ashamed to tell anyone, in the beginning I was a little, because I wanted to feel normal, and to deny it or pretend I never was one made feel normal. As you grow you realise it is no big deal, everyone has a past...other people may be just as aprhensive to tell their story as you are to tell yours. I don't bring it up w/acquaintances because it's not ususally a topic for conversation, w/close friends, yeah, they know a lot about me, and I know a lot about them as well. Don't feel that you need to tell everyone you are in contact with because it's not important, it's something you share with people you are close to, or if it happens to surface in conversation.....it's makes for great conversation too.

Elder visits after disassociating?
by davidsf ini heard that after a jw has been disfellowshipped, elders will still periodically visit the person, once a year?, to see if his situation has changed and might be interested in studying again.
my question is, what if a jw disassociated himself?
some elders i have been avoiding for 10+ years discovered where i live and tried to visit me.

First of all, as many of us have learned on being "out" of the JW association is being less judgemental. To accuse this woman of being selfish Elsewhere is a bit harsh. You don't know the conversation she and her fiancee have had, obviously they are still together.....it's a terrible mistake, but nonetheless a child was produced, from her perspective, the right thing to do is still have this baby. what if she tried again later and then never got pregnant....yes their are a lot of needy children out there, but don't be so judgemental because someone chooses to have a baby naturally and go thru a lot of procedures to get there. What she has right to is the child's natural father's health record.....the doctor f**d up, his resolve was a quick fix cover up....the morning after pill.....I'm quite certain he will be more careful next time.
