I've avoided the elders so far...but could this all change on SATURDAY?

well, it has been almost three years since i silently and dramatically vanished from the world of the watchtower.

moving an hour away from my congregation's territory and not answering phone calls was all i needed to avoid having to wear the letter "a" on my chest.

but, that could all change this saturday.

I'm sure it will all go well for you this Saturday, sounds like you'll be keeping busy with the kids and that's good. You got a lot of good advice, so I"m not even going to add to it.....but the 4 martinis b4 is not a bad idea.

As long as you kind of know what to expect. No doubt someone will want to get together with you to encourage you to come back, cuz well, that's what they do....you're smart, you'll do fine....no worries......cheers!

they even mentioned to my df'd sis how i "went apostate".

I'm so sorry...I remember getting letters like that. When I left Arizona to move back up here in Chicago, my dad said to me, the door is always open if I ever decide to come back in the truth (yeah, I like that 'if') so I simply responded.....'well, my door is always open to you, if you so choose to come in'.....they didn't know how to respond. I don't think they realize that they are making the choice to cut themselves off from us.

When is the "Memorial" this year? Will you attend? >>>>>>

:) i was just curious when the memorial was this year?

is it at the end of march, at full moon, right?

one day? they're more like a whole month off....they're celebrating in March...Nisan 14th is in fact April 23rd...not sure what Jewish Calendar they're looking at.

the real-life story of annie shapiro - who fell into a coma at age 50 in 1963 - is more remarkable than the movie based on her miraculous re-awakening.

i have only been a recent user of this site.

the other night i explained what it was i was spending time reading online some evenings when my boyfriend is out and tried to explain how it is helping me finally let go of the jw beliefs that i have clung to for so long.

i thought he would be pleased, but he got really angry and now is very difficult any time i try to use the internet at home.

much of it is lack of understanding on his part, perhaps he feels that you'll go back or be sucked into it all again...when I went to my first apostate fest my husband asked if everyone there was whining and dwelling on the past...I said no, your understanding of this is incorrect, if anything it helped me to re-connect with my past in order to understand a lot of feelings I've had today. I've pushed it aside long enough and put myself into denial, but the truth is, my past is still there, and I needed to face it, cry over it, laugh over it. This board has helped me to finally feel and understand what that dark shadow was hovering over me. I still don't talk about it with my spouse, I think he would rather it didn't exist as well (my past that is)...so I just don't. He's a good guy don't get me wrong, he's never been angry about my connections on this board, we just don't talk about it.

Nisan 14th is April 23rd according to my Jewish Calendar.....and no memorial here, most likely we'll be having a family seder :)

nope, it was a big thing at the age of 14 though. the only thing I remember the speaker saying is that it's a date you will remember for the rest of your life....yup, he was right, I just wish I could forget it.

internet advertising seem to be getting stronger again.

presen economic situation for newspaper is not bright, they include the new york times, boston globe international, herald tribune gannett co., (100 newspapers including usa today), ew scripps (21 newspapers) dow jones & co./the wall street journal.

I still prefer the old fashioned method of print. I like the Sunday Trib w/ a cup of coffee in hand.

tickled pink...I am too....I have made some of Rachel Rays....I love Tyler Florence, I think he is such a hottie, he can cook for me anytime :)
