Terry, great reviews on your book. Thanks for the links. In all fairness to you, I would have to read what you have to say to form an opinion about your position. I also saw that you authored another book that sounds mentally challenging.
Based on what was said in the reviews about what you wrote in your book, above mentioned, you were not compelled to go to the Army (Thank God ) because at the time, you were a JW; You automatically qualified for the exemption because you were JW , but you don't look at that, you only look at having to go to jail because you think that WT should have allowed you to choose alternate military service which was a provision offered at that time to those that qualified. But you do not have all of the facts that led WT to their position nor did you have the burden that JW leadership had at that time. Seems to you so clear to look back in 20/20 hindsight. Nevertheless, your courage and loyalty that you showed then still stands.

For those of you that are disfellowshipped, How Far Would Your Faithfull JW Family Go To Stay Loyal to The WT?
by John Aquila inive seen jw parents shun their disfellowshipped children for 20-30 years.
ive seen parents remove disfellowshipped or fader children from wills and give the inheritance to the watchtower..
if your country got run over by some form of government like the nazi regime and started a process of eliminating any groups or individuals who it considered a threat.

There is a saying; "More papist than the pope." Present DF is softer than years ago, but some individuals still want to take it to the extreme, but such harshness is not required.
I cannot understand how some people can think that they can go around breaking the rules of society and still expect to be treated as a member. If you live in a house with a bunch of other people and you refuse to follow the rules that everybody else is following, you cannot live with everybody else, you can come back but you have to follow the rules. When you are not a member, you should not expect to be treated as one.
Albeit, you cannot shun your wife or your children. And it seems cruel to treat your family members with contempt because they are DF. It is also cruel not allowing parents or grandparents to see their loved ones. On the other hand, when DF JW relatives especially start sending easter bunnies and christmas cards, and calls on birthdays, and talk to children and grandchildren or JW relatives against JW, it gets to the point where JW does not want to deal with DF JW at all, but for those reasons and not because they are DF.

I also saw a cartoon showing the parted red sea, and Moses walking towards it having a solemn expression on his face as he moved forward, and a goofy, smiling, child's, inflatable life preserver around his neck, and a crowd of people following, but no one that was following him was wearing one. -Funny
People think that they know; They think that they will not have to pay; A thief will ride until he is stopped, then he prays.- And pays.

I do not pray to a wall. I pray to Jehovah, the God of the Bible. He answers my prayers, especially when I need Him as a deliverer or comforter. Many times though, He does not give me what I ask Him, but He always lets me know that He has heard my prayer.
Why He allows suffering of humans and animals, my mind and heart is not able to understand. However, I do understand, that I want relief from those that oppress me.

Generation-How long? Must conform to Bible in terms of length and definition. The WT projected that the 1914 generation would be the same in length as 70 CE, about 80 years or so, and 1975 fit just right with that definition- But no disgusting thing standing in a Holy place. Albeit, 1914 is written in stone. Whatever any meaning of generation is applied to 1914,100 years of invisible ruling and letting everybody know that there is a new sheriff in town is the limit. I think that Oct 2015 to Passover 2016 is the time frame that JW are privately in expectation for the GT. If expectations do not realize by then, then who knows what, when.
