A massive, historical, worldwide WT cutbacks involving many thousands of people and millions and millions of dollars. Special pioneers are being sent home, thousand of Bethelites are getting pink slipped -hushhhhhhh, nobody knows about it yet not even the people sent home. -

The Watchtower Society is confused over its “Seventy Years” and "Seven Times"
by Doug Mason inuntil now, the watch tower society [wts] has argued that the 70 years was a period during which judah was totally and completely depopulated.
for this reason, it constantly argued that the period commenced when the jews left judah and entered egypt.
jerusalem was destroyed in the fifth month (two months before october/tishri).

Interestingly, WWI began on the fifth (Jewish calendar) month in 1914. August 1,1914 corresponds with Jewish commemoration of Tisha B'av. -

What can be concluded from this statement only:
On March 19, 2003, President George W Bush struck Iraq and killed Sadam Hussein.
Did GWB personally strike Iraq?
Did GWB personally kill SH?
Was SH killed on 3/19/2003?
Since we know what happened, we understand what the author meant in the above statement, but if we did no know, we would not be able to conclude so much correctly, but would need other pieces of information to form conclusions about the details that seem to be implied but not actually established in the statement.
compare
12Now on the tenth day of the fifth month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard, who was in the service of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem. 13He burned the house of the LORD, the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem; even every large house he burned with fire.…
From the above verses, what can it be said about when Jerusalem fell and why?
The 2,520 years began in October 607 B.C.E., when Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians and the Davidic king was taken off his throne.
Why does the WT teach that Jerusalem fell in October and not in the 5th month?
Ans: The Bible is ironic and poetic and there are allusions and references that the WT concludes apply to this event that play on the words: time, 7, October, Jerusalem, etc.which suggests when the event actually occured in terms of application of Bible prophecy. The approach to WT applying 7x is based on Biblical irony and not based on apparent history. It just so happens that Biblical irony will turn out to be historical fact and not what is apparent. The Bible continues to imply that things are not what they seem and mainstream observation is wrong and things will have to be re-examined and seen in terms of this Bible irony (according to the WT.)

DM, Thanks for your exciting and interesting commentary. It is late now and I will have to look up the BIble verses later on.
Here is what the WT has always taught about the destruction of Jerusalem back in the time of the prophets: Jerusalem was invaded two times. The first time it was invaded resulted in Zedekiah being installed as a vassal king. Because king Zedekiah rebelled against Babylon, the king of Babylon invaded Jerusalem a second time and this time the king of Babylon destroyed the temple ((jewish tradition holds that 1st and 2nd temple were destroyed in the month of Av) However, the WT has always taught that Gedaliah was left in Judah as governor after the destruction of the first temple. He was later assassinated by Ismael, resulting in the Babylonians disassembling the Jewish presence in Judah that Babylon allowed at that time. It was then that the 70 year desolation began and not in the 9th of Av.
How does this correspond with your commentary?

I'd be interested to hear about any experiences you've had with Mormons.
"The book of Mormon is from God because the angel said so, and the angel would not have said so if it was not from God, and besides that, the book of Mormon is better than the Bible, which is only the word of God as far as it can be translated correctly, that is not the case with the book of Mormon, because Salt Lake City is where the Garden of Eden use to be, and we have prophets today to prove it, and that is because we want your 10 percent, and never take off your holy underwear. And we know it is the truth because we have prophets that tell us, and God would not tell the prophets the truth unless they were prophets,-would he- and that is how we know they are prophets, because God speaks to them. In any case God would never lie. (Hey you want to have a lot of sex with as many wives as you can afford? -but you cannot have sex before marriage, it is a sin, and you must marry your wives before having sex.)" The Kings James Bible is the best because we like it and the reason we like it is becaiuse the book of Mormon quotes from the King James, and that is why KJV is the best.
"After billions of eons of time have passed, you will get to be God too over your own parallel universe. Bringum Young!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Keep bringing them young (especially the females.)
Tithe of 15 million Mormons revenue per year is a lot of hay.
I only have one question for you, can you support your views? "We don't know that much."

Has anyone thought of the spin that the "society" will put on bethel layoffs?
by Lied2NoMore infirst, how about a joke?.
what do you call someone who just turned apostate?.
im thinking sometime in the future the society will put a spin on what is happening similar to what has been done in the past.. they will say apostasy once again reared its ugly head in the organization and layoffs was the only way to "cleanse" the organization.. once disgruntled ones begin to use their voice, they will be forced to strike back with some spin to make all those who have the guts to complain look like they were the problem.. good theory huh?.

Bethelites are no dummies, they see whats's cooking.
After 1975 went, a large number of Bethelites left. After 1995 or so, Bethelites also left. After the turn of the century, a lot of Bethelites were sent home, besides those that left. After 2015, we have this rumor of sending Bethelites home. Bethel is not what it used to be. WT is not looking for people to stay there till death and be a burden and expense in their old age. Seems that they want a turn around of young people to experience Bethel then leave and pioneer. Out of this turn around, certain few are selected because of skills, traits or spirituality and these should stay a good long time. IF they need you they want you to stay, if they do not want you, why stay where you are not wanted. Certainly, there will be resentment. at being rejected, but not by everyone that is asked to leave. It has been posted on this Forum that WT had to request money from the cong donations and besides that, they let jw know of deficit and there is also a sense of awareness by jw that $ is tight. Betheites are insiders, they see what is going on first hand no matter how you cut or spin it.

"The battle of Armageddon refers to the final war between human governments and God. These governments and their supporters oppose God even now by refusing to submit to his rulership. (Psalm 2:2) The battle of Armageddon will bring human rulership to an end.—Daniel 2:44." [COPYRIGHT WBTS EXCERPT TAKEN FROM jw.org WEBSITE]
WT is asking governments now to submit. But why not before?
