  Simon, what do you think about the children that are harmed in child abuse cases that are not reported to the police by such church that is deemed qualified not to report it?

  Are you saying that the issue here is not that ALL churches must report child abuse, but that only those churches that do not qualify must?

  They cannot then claim clergy privilege if they don't have any.

  The WTS do not claim to have clergy or churches either but the legislation that uses those terms applies to Jews and Moslems too as well as the WT. The laws apply and provide benefits to all religions the same and the term clergy and other terms used in legislation must fit into a generic equation that applies to all religions equally or the law is unconstiutional if it only caters to a religion meeting some preferred standard. That is not my opinion, it is the opinion of US Courts.

  romans 13 : 1-4 clearly states that the superior authorities are an arrangement from god , defy them and you are working against the arrangement of god at your own peril.. christians are to be obedient to the superior authorities ,"for their is no authority except by god , the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by god .therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of god ".

  Yes, in jewish theology, satan is only doing his job. Jews also believe that the book of job is allegorical, one of the "ketuvim" books of the Jewsih Bible (OT)

  I am going to assume that DD also feels that RC church priest should also be jaiiled if they do not report child abuse crimes they hear in confession. That is what I understood. If not, say so directly.

  Mephis no matter how you try to defend what you stated, DD did not try to beat around the bush. DD answer is what I needed to hear form someone who clearly wants ALL child abuse reported not just some child abuse reported from people who do not qualify.

  Simon, the issue in my argument is not about WT integrity compared to a standard. My only point is that in the US, as any other church does (good or bad), the WT is entitled to church/ penitent privilege based on present SC interpretation of the 1st Amendment.

  Seems to me from the posts and the answers to my questions that posters on this thread ((except Data Dog) do not care about child abuse not being reported to statutory authorities by the church as long as conditions are met and that WT does not qualify for the provisions because they do not meet a standard of required condition.
  

  So, I conclude that, in terms of reporting child abuse to Caesar, people (posters) do not care about children in general (except Data dog, you, because you have expressed hate of all churches and vidiot , and maybe some others but that is what I have read) but that conditions are met to qualify, and that means that the church does not have to report child abuse if they meet church penitent conditions

  Is it fair to say then, that in child abuse confessions to a JW elder, if JW would change their Judicial Commitees who's purpose is to judge a sinner (not to grant absolution) and involve 3 or more elders and sometimes witnesses and keep files and report to the WT, but instead respect the privacy and confidentiality of the PENITENT by not involving so many people inside the church but rather that the communication be kept STRICTLY PRIVATE. And I mean only the elder, the penitent and God and that is it, that you would respect the confidentiality and privacy of communication should not be disclosed to anyone whatsover inside or outside the church but that it is sacred sort of speak between God the penitent and the JW elder. (JW do not grant absolution but is this fair enough?) or you just do not want JW to enjoy the privilege of confidentiality in child abuse cases.

  Joe, do you think that the church should qualify for priest/penitent confidentiality privilige in child abuse cases if the confession it is kept private: no judicial comitees, no WT legal department, no bunch of elders hearing about the confession and it is strictly confidential between priest and penitent ONLY?
