the new understanding

hi guys , i know i was never a favorite here and haven't posted in awhile ... question .

what do you think of the new understanding of , " this generation " they seem to go in circles on this one big time , once 1914 generation was almost gone they said they didn't know what it meant and now in the new publication the generation includes the second generation after 1914 .... i agree they don't know what they are talking about and this is just another control move .

any comments ?.

Interlapping generation is not a new teaching but interlapping anointed is new now. Knowing that 1914 era anointed are dead and also most if not all of the people alive or born in 1914 are also probably dead, the only sequitur understanding is interlapping anointed given the conclusion that the socp began in 1914 and that at least some of JC disciples would see " all these things happening." 1914 is written in stone. However, a century of invisible rule is a very long time and something must give within a year or so -seems to me if 1914 generation is to make any sense now.

What is the purpose of life?

while reading the magazines the other day it occurred to me that jws never really had a very good answer to that question.

because it was aimed at young people and it said something along the lines, "if you believe in god you have a purpose, but if you don't believe in god your life has no purpose or meaning".

i think that is a faulty analysis of the situation.

Revealing the wt "translators" now that gb are all over the place?

back when me & my jw were still discussing anything jw related we had numerous discussions about just who the translators of the wt's bible were.

(i knew, thanks to this site and others like it) the answer was usually something to the effect that they (the wt) didn't want to give 'honor' to mere men by revealing who they were and what their education was.

now that the gb are all over the place, youtube, etc... why not reveal the 'translators' and their educational background?

Moving to warwick: 1 Billion dollars in profits so far.

Why move ?

1. For what wt property in kings county is being used for, the real estate value has maxed out.; however, real estate developers can make money on the property by converting the buildings to residential/ commercial.

2. WT purpose in Columbia Heights has been fulfilled.

3. WT does not need to run a factory and church in prime residential location.

4. Need to consolidate WT operations in customized location instead of spread out buildings in the Heights.

5. Tax risk, Eminent Domain risk, pressure because property is needed for a better use at its location, safety issues.

6 WT financial mavens have determined that it is better to have the cash than the properties

7 Either WT has reason to believe that the gt will strike within a couple of years and they want to get out of the way or the WT movement is moving to a Christian living message while the WT waits poised at a remote location for the realization of the gt at some unknown time in the not so distant future, taking a not so visible position in the public eye as they did next to the Brooklyn Bridge, Downtown Brooklyn, The Watchtower sign over the Brooklyn Harbor, et cetera.

It just seems to me that the WT realizes that they do not need to be in such an expensive area anymore to do what they do, understanding that wt property is needed for housing and other secular use. They can use the money they make from the sale to get bigger, better and cheaper, and better invest the rest of the money to make more money to continue to finance WT movement rather than sitting on the Brooklyn Heights property which they do not need anymore and and from which there is not too much future with anymore financially -which seems to me is a major reason for moving to Warwick.

in recent years significant progress has been made in solving the question of how life originated on our planet.. how do you think theists will respond when it finally happens?

as a former christian i know my reaction would have been something like "well that just goes to show that it takes intelligent life to make life", but for two reasons that defense doesn't work.. firstly it would prove that life is not an ethereal force that originates with god.

there is no 'ghost in the machine', no elan vital.

Jehovah`s Witnesses Boasted They have No Clergy Laity Class ?

well that`s what was impressed on me to differentiate between the true religion and false religion , when i was converted in 1960 , do they still claim that ?

believing that they still do , i will say this.. what about ,:the governing body who definitely are set apart from the rank and file for their attitude towards the r&f , but also from the attitude of the r&f towards the governing body members.many do seem to idolise gb members by their actions , and the gb members dont seem to discourage that.. and not only for their attitude , how about their life-style , being housed in bethel with all the mod -cons of modern civilization as opposed to a r&f member living in a third world country .does the wt society do anything to make their lifestyle improve ?

"BTG" has a true laity class in that laity can never be promoted to clergy. In JW, "laity" (joepub) and elders all perform the same services(talks etc.) there is no distinction in terms of ministry, same for all- even in the Bible house. The difference between the elder class and publishers is legal and spiritual responsibility. With "BTG" clergy wears special garb and is distinct from laity in that laity does not participate but are bystanders sort of speak while clergy does all the mumbo jumbo.

The Real Reason why the WT predicted Armageddon in 1975

i am of the opinion that the wt doctrine is influenced more by external factors that it is by internal ones.

one of the doctrines that has puzzled me for some time is the armageddon prediction of 1975. why would the wts make this prediction?

what was their real purpose?.

Even though 1975 passed away, the unknown variable (Eve creation date) still kept the hope alive for many years to follow. According to the Insight book, 1975 is still a valid date which validates the teaching (for JW) that the Millennium should start not with reference to the creation of Adam but with reference to when God rested after the creation of Eve. And according to how JW see Bible chronology, this referenced gap should converge with 1914 generation and all the other prophecies and dates which identify (according to JW) -the end times.

i am going to engage on a trip to the past and share with you some of the matters that marked the beginning of the jws persecution in cuba.

you will be surprised that the pattern that was followed is very similar to what happened in other dictatorial countries.. in the cuban case, i am going to surprise you and tell you that like what happened with hitler; the wt was partially responsible for their clash and confrontation with the cuban government.

during the early 60s the revolution was fighting for survival and they were willing and ready to demolish any perceived enemy to their cause.. a prime example was their war against the catholic church that was the most influential religious entity in the country; it took the supreme leader only a few public discourses to send the vast majority of clergy packing and back to their country, in this case spain.. the jehovah’s witnesses were an insignificant minority but they over estimated their importance and displayed a belligerent attitude, it was known that this was a us based religion and an easy target to connect them with the cia.

when things started to get ugly the Branch kept their normal operations, this made easy for the security forces to raid the Branch and in one scoop get all the relevant targets.

I always had figured that FC gov did not tolerate WT branch and simply closed them down and kept the branch for the gov or people and used it for something secular.

Hecce, in the past, what did the Cuban government do to JW for their stand on no blood, no flag, no military and covert preaching. What do they do now to JW?

I heard that very few can get internet in Cuba, so JW sign don't do much for the locals.
