But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith. In that case, we are also exposed as false witnesses about God. For we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead
All Paul is doing is debunking the belief that sprouted up among the Christians back then that there is no resurrection of the dead with the logic that they already knew for a fact that Jesus was resurrected from the dead and that was a basis for faith in the resurrection of others too. In fact, the resurrection of Jesus is what they were preaching about.
(These guys back then weren't teaching from some book they read which was written some thousands of years ago. ( The Bible so states that:) This is something that they saw; they saw the resurrected Jesus; they saw Jesus ascend into heaven and Paul saw and communicated with Jesus. The resurrection of Jesus was proven conclusively to those witnesses and that is what these guys back then were witnessing and preaching about all over the place.)
They were testifying about what they saw and heard-not hearsay or something that they read off some book, and that is what being a witness is all about. The subject matter in the related "logic" is about debunking an erroneous conclusion that some had come to back then; Paul's logic is not about invalidating the resurrection, something proven (to them) to be true. Facts cannot be invalidated; neither with logic, not with arguments, not with other facts. Facts stand on their own and everyone back then was convinced for a fact that Jesus rose from the dead and no one could prove to them otherwise. And that proof was a basis for faith in the resurrection -not of Jesus- but of everybody else.

Spy camera wanted, motion activated, wireless, etc.
by FatFreek 2005 inokay, it doesn't have to be a spy camera.. it must be something wireless that send signals to my android smart phone.
and some of those spy cameras seem to have fairly good features but they are also scary.
their descriptions are obviously translated from some other language and i would worry about decent customer support.. i'd simply like to be notified the moment a certain cabinet door (actually, two doors) is opened.

BY way of a router, you need to go into the router and configure ports ( port forwarding: open the designated ports) you also need to configure the program you are using on your android (QEye for example) to work with the ports you opened on your router. IF your router is a separate unit from your modem, you are in luck . IF you have a combo router modem, you need to contact your ISP to help you set it up. Don't tell them too much about what you want to do. BY way of a dvr connected to a router, ports and passwords have to match and you must set up the dns as static. Most ISP's dont change the DNS that often and you can try and use it as if it was static. For a small yearly fee you can get a static DNS from a provider on the internet, Dyns I think is one.
BY way of the dialer, you need to put minutes on the sim card, with the right plan it costs about 20 dollars a year.
The hardest part of setup if you use the router in the system you decide upon, is configuring the ports on the router and getting the router to work with the dvr.
IF you just want to monitor an area and dont need to be notified right away if they open a door etc, they sell household objects that are actually dvrs activated by motion, so the battery will last a very long time -weeks or more. They record to a micro card. IF you get one that records to a slower fps and or resolution you can record hours of video on a 32 gig card. THese units are cheap 40 or 50 bucks -or more. THey sell all kinds of things that people would never suspect is a camera. A lot of options. Everythng you need need is on ebay for less than 100.00 plus the time you need to compare everything and decide what you need.

Proof does not provide long term motivation:
You are wrong about that. But then it depends on the man. Proof was all that Paul needed. As a Pharisee, Paul was spiritually blind, He saw things the Jewish way and thought in those terms. No argumentation or reasoning from the scriptures could have convinced Paul. He saw and spoke with the resurrected JC in heavenly glory -he knew with certainty, but he still needed faith that he would receive his reward and getting the reward is future long term, but when God provides proof he concurrently provides friendship which is manifested with evidence of his holy spirit througout a person's life long term -some people walk away as I posted previously
Proof is something long term, it stays in your mind forever, it cannot be debunked, it will affect your thinking long term, forever. The only basis for Bible faith. A person is convinced for life.
But God does not just come to people until they show faith. Not only in expectation but in action.
I disagree somewhat, take Nicodemus for example, he concluded from the evidence not from faith .Take the preaching work of JC, God's Holy Spirit in action, God just comes to all kinds of people with proof. However, I agree that a person has to be rightly disposed to see the evidence. Proof from God is very special, it also affects a person's emotions and spirituality not only the mind. God's Holy Spirit is very visible. People cannot see because of spiritual blindness. But once they do, they start to see the evidence, Proving yourself is about receiving the reward which involves long term faith but before a person can have faith he needs something to base his faith upon which is not wishful thinking or idolatry. Take "Babylon the great's" followers, the Jews, Xtians, etc, they have faith without proof.

Viv, are you saying that if God communicated with you same as he did with Abraham before he decided to have faith and same as he did with Noah before he decided to build the ark, that is not proof?

Viv, every person mentioned in Hebrews 11 had proof from God -something that they observed and knew with certainty to be real- before they decided to have faith. Even myself, without convincing evidence, I would not be able to have any faith, my mind would not trust something subjective 100 percent. The mind trusts proof.
Given: Proof that God exists, proof that he cares, proof that he has power. -but no relief, for that faith is need.
Take for examples the wilderness trek, pillar of cloud, pillar of fire, the ten plagues, manna from the heavens, water from a rock, the red sea -and with all that proof Israelites still needed faith that God would keep his promise. This is jw 101.
The wt has tons and tons of commentary.

Viv, proof is about the present. Faith is about the future. Let's say for example that a person prayed to God for solid proof and that person got that proof to his or her satisfaction. At first, such phenomenon would have a deep effect on a person but I guarantee that as remarkable as anything may seem, one gets used to it -and then it is about relief and not about proof. So here is where faith is needed. A person may reason, 'I know God exists for a fact, I know he cares about me; I have solid evidence, but so what, I suffer from depression, or I have such illness, or some loved one died, or some other horrible thing happened' -and you ain't getting relief NOW, you have to wait and maybe you figure that you have to die waiting. Some people get tired of waiting and walk away from all of the proof and just live for the present -but not if you have faith because you reason that based upon that real evidence, there is hope, relief will realize. But without solid proof, faith crumbles. At least for me; I need solid evidence of something in action that I can observe; and based on my present observations, I can predict future actions of that something, but only if that something proves to be faithful in the future -a chance I have to take. That chance is faith.

Your best bet is to buy something on ebay from China. They are cheap -under a hundred bucks, not a brand name item. The great thing about china is that you get all the bells and whistles and more for a great price.
These home security alarms come with normally closed and normally open switches that transmit to the main board when triggered, which can also be programed to turn on a security camera that also transmits to your phone over the net. They also come with sound and motion activated switches. The main board contains a dialer which uses a sim card. The dialer calls your cell phone when any switch is triggered. All switches have an antenna, but you can try to improvise something if you want to hide the antenna/switch. You can activate or deactivate the alarm, turn on or turn off devices attached to the alarm from your phone. The only problem is that it is easier to read Chinese than the "English" instructions but with common sense it is not difficult to set up.
They also sell dvr camera systems (cheap also) that record 24/7/363. You can connect a wired or wireless hidden camera to it. They also sell ultra small wide angle dvr spy cameras (cheap about 70.00) from china The battery lasts about 8 hours or you can connect to a power supply 24/7. They record to a micro sd card.

Real evidence is what convinces the mind. The Bible records that consistently God always gave proof and never ever expected people to believe without solid evidence and that is why the Bible records that God gave Paul and those Christians back then sufficient proof. They had back then writings and testimonies, etc. but it was not enough to convince Paul until proof from God (according to the Bible) converted him. If such is true, then it is logical to conclude that today also God would also give equivalent evidence to convince people unequivocally that he exists and that he cares about people.
