  by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

  Is not the law based on our moral codes?

  Who's moral code? Wt teaches homosexuality, abortions and pornography minors having sex, is wrong -yet perfectly legal with some exceptions.

  morally or legally?

  Legally maybe. Morally, some people would be forced to view them for law enforcement, in that case no. IF the viewing contributed to the child abuse then yes. It is unthinkable how someone can get sexual gratification from harming children sexually. I cannot understand that.

  In one jurisdiction in the US, it is a crime for someone over the age of 21 to have sex with someone under the age of 17. In Australia the age of consent is 16. Can a 16 year old boy legally consent to sex with a 54 year old in Australia?

  WT claiming that "viewing child pornography is not considered to be child sexual abuse"?

  Depending on the jurisdiction, viewing child pornography is not child sexual abuse. But you will have to show that it is in Australia..

  Mathew 5:27,28 says nothing about viewing child pornography being child abuse. (although it is wrong to have sexual feelings towards a child) Children of the same age sometimes have sexual feelings towards each other and male children sometimes have sexual feelings towards a teacher for example.
