Books are not dying out and this is not the reason for the WT turning to tablets
by slimboyfat inthere's a popular misconception that books in general are in terminal decline, that this is the reason the wt organisation has turned to tablets instead of print, and this in turn has created a financial crisis for the organisation which traditionally relied upon publishing books for income.
this is wrong on a number of levels.
firstly physical books are not in terminal decline, they are as popular as ever with consumers.

Watchtower teaches that Jesus dying on the stake is no longer certain
by Listener inthe watchtower has held for many years that jesus died on a stake and held strongly to this teaching.
w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.
they are no longer certain on this point.

Many view the cross as the most common symbol of Christianity. However, the Bible does not describe the instrument of Jesus’ death, so no one can know its shape with absolute certainty. Still, the Bible provides E V I D E N C E that Jesus died, not on a cross, but on an upright stake.
There is a difference between evidence and proof (absolute certainty).

Empirical evidence; proof. The superlative experience any human can have and very personal. Without the vision, but same as Isaiah felt when he saw a vision of God sitting on his throne. The fulfillment of "They will have to know that I am Jehovah." You don't need anything more out of life, you found it. You are convinced for life; you know what you know. Same operation of God's Holy Spirit as recorded in the Bible. You don't need any more evidence, not manna coming down from heaven, not an angel nor the sea opening up. All that is missing is justice, vengeance, vindication and RELIEF.

The Watchtower are Right About Blood...
by cofty in... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.

Should Blood Transfusions be forced?
by Fisherman in1.there are times when a doctor decides that the only life saving medical treatment -short of a miracle- is a blood transfusion.
in such a case, what should be done when a person refuses treatment on religious grounds and why?.
2. should a person be allowed to "mutilate" his body and why?.

It is legal for people to tatoo their faces and bodies from head to toe, cut off parts of their tongue, "sex changes", pierce their entire bodies bodies in a gruesome manet and more less do whatever they like to their bodies left to the imagination.

dub, I told you. If you want to make a statement or ask a question about the topic, I may decide to respond to you -if I wish. But I am not required to. If you dont like that, too bad for you. Do you have a view you wish to express about the Topic?

You demand answers of everyone else but never put your own views out there. Are you hiding something?
dub, I can ask. No one is required to answer. This is not a court room.
Lets say you are walking down the street and stopped by a cop and he tells you, lets go down to the precinct, we want to ask you some questions. What should you do?

1. You are defending a stance on blood that is directly reflective of the WT view.
I have not been convinced otherwise. My most enjoyable dialogues have been with TD and with Marvin Shilmer and with others too.
