  But the Bible writers did not write their thoughts according to the premise that the Bible is inspired so they didn’t have to understand what they wrote or could have been mistaken about what they intended to mean. So, in-spite of their beliefs at the time as to the identity of Babylon the Great juxtaposition the mistaken beliefs about the significance of the “disgusting thing that causes desolation” which Jesus clarified later on, the prophetic identity of Babylon the Great may not be Rome.   No. Revelation was about cryptic references to events that affected early Christians under the Roman empire during the first and early second centuries. Relevance to anything now, or to the future, is exactly zero.

  I don’t think so because the book of Rev actually does speak about the future, for example the 1000 year reign of Christ and after that, the final test for humanity after Satan is let loose, etc.

  American has never had a war INSIDE THE AMERICAN COUNTRY.

  considering it is contacted in the open and i see other people engaging outdoors on other sales activities why is cart witnessing still not allowed?

  i found this interesting topic on the current views among jws regarding the overlapping generation.. the posts are hilarious.

  how do most jehovah's witnesses explain the overlapping generation?.

  i've asked a couple of jws to explain the overlapping generation and they directed me to the website jw------org.. either they don't know, or they do know but don't want to discuss it because they know it's bogus and embarrassing.. either way, surely they must know that this just extended the last days another 80 years from the time fred franz died.

  It is valid. But not liked. It takes the tension and focus and anticipation away from length of generation part of the prophecy. It is disappointing for older ones and for ones waiting for immediate pending relief but to new ones coming in and young ones that are into being involved, the explanation is not unacceptable or out of the ordinary.

  Sounds more like an excuse to keep extending. Also, like when one thought he completed a task and and an inspector points reasons needed to keep working and go back to correct. That is what it feels like to people but nevertheless it is the only valid explanation given that the great tribulation will come using the year 1914 as a limit to the countdown. “Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will by no means pass away.” So it doesn’t depend on whether meaning makes sense but on the certainty of the prophecy—again based on circa 1914 generation being “the time of the end.”

  millions will never die. 1918-1925.

  They are all dead more or less.

  But the Bible says that at some point in time people will survive a destruction and live forever. Hopefully this is true and will happen to us.

  in today's wt "study, "merci" a lot of gaslighting.

  on one hand: you will be judged the way you are judging, but twice "david" is seen as needlessly killing or intending to kill people for minor transgression, .

  However, the CO visit has changed over the years.

  So has the theocratic school where the theme for a talk was chosen by the student and the Bible reading was a talk with personal commentary. Over all there are less personal expressions at the meetings and narrower parameters for commentary from the platform. Talking from the platform is limited to ms and elders except for a presentation or the talk where the theme is given.
