For clarification WT does not teach eternal torment but eternal non existence as punishment without any hope of a resurrection: God destroys the soul of an individual as if by fire symbolized by Gehenah.

Do you think the Watchtower is right about about eternal punishment of the wicked?
by Vanderhoven7 inatheists believe death is the end of personal existence.
but for those who believe there is life after death, what do you think is the nature of final punishment?
in other words do you agree with the atheists and the watchtower society or is there eternal ongoing conscious punishment awaiting the wicked.

Terry,
It is understandable why your father fled from your mother but it is inexcusable to abandon you. That is a cowardly act.

ANTI-DEPRESSANT medication for the last 60 years now proved to be based on poorly supported false theory
by Terry in"the chemical imbalance theory of depression is still put forward by professionals, and the serotonin theory, in particular, has formed the basis of a considerable research effort over the last few decades.
the general public widely believes that depression has been convincingly demonstrated to be the result of serotonin or other chemical abnormalities, and this belief shapes how people understand their moods, leading to a pessimistic outlook on the outcome of depression and negative expectancies about the possibility of self-regulation of mood""read: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m92v7hb0njm2mnvnu6nv0kpnkzloe-_k4crh_wphpti/edit?usp=sharing.

Terry, were you married to all 4 at the same time? If they were all JW females, I hear you. According to the Bible, an overseer must be husband to one wife. Why put that in the Bible unless non overseers were married to multiple wives it seems.
By therapist, I don’t mean necessarily the professionals you mentioned although it could be.

WT is a commentary of the Bible. According to the Bible God, has appointed Jesus as judge and chief executioner of individuals.
”Now this is the basis for judgment, light has come into the world but men have loved darkness.”
Jesus’s description of Gehenah sounds very eternal where not the person’s body but the person in toasted.

Luke 20:37,38 (nwt-E) — But that the dead are raised up, even Moses made known in the account about the thornbush, when he calls Jehovah ‘the God of Abraham and God of Isaac and God of Jacob.’ 38 HE is a God, not of the dead, but of the living, for they are all living to him.”
This also proves that Jesus is not God.
But the Bible clearly and unambiguously teaches a resurrection. —Were all those people lying and is the Bible a pack of lies?

criticised ritalin use. Was he right?
Ritalin has been used to treat depression in adults. It is not the first choice drug to treat depression . It stimulates the cns in a way that causes euphoria. It also stimulates sexual desire very much intensifying pleasure but those are the unpleasant side effects of the drug. A doctor may try it on his patient to treat his depression when trying to find something that works when other meds don't seem to specially work for him. This information is not from the PDR or medical diagnosis and treatment or from a pharmacology text book. It is what patients experience using the drug and report to their doctor.

There was no way on earth that l could have gone running or taken part in any form of physical exercise… Citalopram broke that cycle.
Now, in a survival situation a serious infection can only be treated with anti-microbial drugs and all the exercise in the world would never cure such an infection. However, in a life and death situation, a person can snap out of a depression mode instantaneously, do acrobatics and jump over crocodiles if need be. So, shocking the brain in one way or another is therapeutic to treat depression.
But the poem “The doctor’s story” doesn’t usually apply to treating depression as it doesn’t apply at all to treating organic diseases. All the fresh air and sunshine in the world won’t change your mood but the effort put in to change your mood like the strenuous effort to go out and exercise or the mental and emotional effort to change thought patterns is therapeutic instead of the physical activity itself. So, the flight mode is therapeutic and not the acrobatic moves it induces. I must say though that once the muscles start flexing and the blood starts flowing it also causes a positive change in brain chemistry.
Everything considered, under usual circumstances, the chemical approach to treatment is the best choice the way I see it.

- We have too little to lose from giving EXERCISE, exposure to sunlight (Vitamin D), and healthy diet a fair chance to improve Happiness vs. Depression
People that suffer from depression don't feel like exercising or may not even feel motivated to do anything. They need a boost, external energy and that can come from the meds. Of course the exercise and the other stuff you mentioned may be helpful to prevent depression but once you have depression, a person should consider medical treatment for the chemical imbalance in the brain and psychotherapy.
—Too much exposure to sunlight may give you skin cancer or damage your skin.

experimented with St. John's Wort
Herbal self treatment for depression is a waste of money and dangerous.
There are several types of depression. For example if some event in your life caused your depression that’s exogenous depression type and if you can come to terms with the event after treatment with medicine and psychotherapy, you should mostly get back to normal somewhat. On the other hand endogenous depression type may be genetic and that’s how you are.
The crazy cycle and sorry for the term: thoughts and feelings disrupts brain chemistry which causes depression which disrupts brain chemistry which causes depression and those thoughts and feelings may even be subconscious.
With endogenous depression although the abnormal brain chemistry is just part of how a person is, it may be possible to get to the point where a person can have minimal symptoms and won’t need medication.
CNS drugs or alcohol should be avoided as a JW abstains from blood. Even a 15mL drink or a glass of wine even once may disrupt a person’s brain chemistry for months. Consume zero amounts of alcohol or sedative drugs like the penes if you have any form of depression.

Many anti-depressant medications are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) that help boost levels of serotonin.
And they are modern day AD that MD are are prescribing nowdays and they work. IMHO Amitriptyline is the best antidepressant of all to treat milder forms of depression although not SSRI and works great also to treat severe forms of clinical depression. It is specifically efffective is very small dosages to treat milder forms of depression. Your patient will thank you.Compared to other ssri it is like if someone forced you to stop crying and change your mood vs experiencing mild euphoria that gives you time not to feel the pain of depression while you slowly get back into the mood again. This is what people have told me.
