  How to debunk the 1914 calculus ONLY using JW publications?

  i remember having read somewhere, but i cannot find it anymore, that it is possible to debunk the 1914 calculus using only jw publications, like "insight on the scriptures" (chronologies) for example.. do you have any sources about that to suggest to me?.

  How does concluding that Judah went captive to Babylon for 70 years and Zion lay desolate for 70 years, The 70 years ended when the king of Babylon saw the handwriting on the wall goes against grammar? The verse you reference includes the nations but the subject matter of the neviim is the punishment of the 2 kingdoms: vs 8 of same chapter referring to the Southern kingdom.
  If you disregard the rest of the Bible you can construe any grammar as you like.

  Most witnesses have their heads in the sand. No one is batting an eye at this.

  You think they’re stupid? Obviously, no one stops serving unless they no longer qualify. Everybody knows this unless they are “new in the truth”. The real reasons why a person is removed may not be disclosed unless a lot of people know about it.

  Grammar is not the issue in Jer 25:11. It is the context and interpretation. The wording of the base text allows 70 year desolation of Judah.

  Sad that the R&F have NO IDEA this is going on

  As usual those that do, do and those that don’t, don’t. As when someone
  gets sanctioned inside the cong for wrongdoing or for not measuring up or being irrepressible, the real reason gets out because people gossip.

  There is no grammatical argument necessary as a plain reading of the text and its context suffices.

  That is what I’ve been saying all along with and without WT commentary. It was mrmustard that raised the grammatical issue. I use the Hebrew text in Soncino Books of the Bible. I also like to reference the commentary from a rabbinical point of view and not christological works because they usually stem from the false premise that Jesus is God Almighty and applying that to interpretation.

  Now, the org is simply reactive and no longer proactive.

  I enjoy your posts. There is a bigger picture: Jehovah. I trust that everything you believed in was not the org. Hopefully, the org succeeds in helping people draw close to God in an empirical way. For some people it takes longer than others but at some point God should be real in a person’s life.

  —-Getting back to the org and the people in it: It is God’s move. Don’t blame the org.

  An entire generation has heard the preaching work and died. God has not ended it and he gives evidence to JW that he is still behind it. There is really nothing more to say. if God is not part of this equation then it is all a waste of time but God is part of it and Jw are convinced even if things don’t seem to add up. A witness saw what he saw. He might be mistaken about his conclusions but not mistaken about what he knows empirically is true. Now the inter-lapping and fading generation is waiting fir God to take action but they are not unconvinced.
