So a person feels outraged and wants to help and reports to the authorities. But now the person is open to being accused of filing a false report and defamation and legal entanglements, having to testify etc.. They start investigating the person making the report and they can turn things around on the person. That’s the way they cut the cookie in some countries and that is why the law needs to be clear. and protect the person reporting and also punish a malicious false report.

JWs commenting on child abuse is as offensive as the KKK preaching about racism
Your remark is again based on a false premise. As far as I know, JW have always acted within the ambit of law. You can take JW to moral Court if you don’t like how jw practice their beliefs.

There’s been just as much outrage at the latter as there has been at the former.
I don’t think so. It gives the impression that the concern is disingenuous. If not because it involves churches like JW being accused of not reporting, the goal finding ways to get at the target do you really believe people cared about children until it was a means to target {JW} for example?

Fisherman, what you consider to be a 'bad influence' is way over the top.
Got it all wrong. Not me. Bad compared to JW standard compared to what non-JW like to believe and practice. Parents may not want the lifestyle of a family member to influence them or their kids and want to stay away. Surely a democratic gov must see that unless they just have it in for jw. If you can’t see, have a nice day.

governments have a right
Other entities too
“unnecessarily” breaking up families
(lol)
My friend never a JW instead of just enjoying his JW family calls the grandchildren up to wish them a happy birthday, Easter bunnies and chocolate eggs etc and keeps pushing his morality and beliefs upon his family. So you know what his family did??? On the other hand a JW family I know lets the DF grandfather see his grandkids. He loves them and loves his son so he doesn’t push his non JW lifestyle on them. But JW belief or not what do you think will happen if grandpa is or becomes a bad influence?
I think it has nothing to do with JW DF standards. Family won’t have anything to do with you if you are a bad influence which is usually the case. Rarely is a df family member good company because they keep pushing their beliefs instead of simply and quietly and trustingly enjoy the grandkids.

The US is a democracy. The people are the superior authority. Agents of THE PEOPLE such as a police agency of a municipality must have legal authority to compel. A municipality or a government agency can enforce laws but they have zero legal authority to go around intimidating people or coercing people or telling people what to do just because they are gov employees. They are public servants not kings or queens. The public is not legally required to be in subjection to non compulsory demands just because someone is a gov employee. For example 1A, 4A are rights people have. The public is foolish to surrender such rights confused they are being in subjection to the superior authorities. In the US, all it means is to be law abiding. You have no legal obligation to be in subjection to someone who is violating your rights or encroaching on your freedom.

Would I be disfellowshiped for this?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inif a publisher openly told the elders that they thought the gb were wrong about some or a lot of things, but said they will not share these thoughts with anyone else then would this be a case of disassociation disgfellowship?.
my guess is lots of elders meetings and shepherding calls to try to get you to say something they could use against you.. but what would be the sin in which you are not repented?.
the only reason to be dissed is non repentance?.

Openly admitting and questioning anything as the GB being as wrong
Obviously if you phrase it like that specifically mentioning gb.

to prepare the eldubs for a windfall of lawsuits and legal ramifications.
Reporting is compulsory, therefore, jw must act within the bounds of law but law suits and legal ramifications were always a peril no matter what you do.

Nah. Obviously wt has admitted they were wrong in the past so what is the difference at present. But verbalizing beliefs that go against teaching to the elders can get a person marked.
