Will Jehovah's Witnesses ever form a SECT?
by Fisherman inunlike all other religions including jews, mormons, and sda, there is only one jw movement.
indivuduals that leave the wts cannot organize another jw like religion.
i think that another jw religion would get the wts very angry.

VO. I fear nothing that is truth. I do not think that the jw movement is a cult. If you really want to get technical I think that all religions are cults.
Just read the Bible. Imagine sacrificing animals, living as a nazarite or as prophet, talking snakes, people that dream about the future, listenning to God's command to kill your son.. and all that seemingly crazy stuff, not to mention the human sacrifice of jesus, sounds cultish today to a modern scientific world based on evidence and facts. BUt VO you are off topic. My post was adressing the turmoil inside the wts today and if another jw orgganization could form.

Blondie, no matter how large or how small a "splinter" is, it is not a branch, whether you like it or not. There are no established JW sects whatsoever. True, there may be some insignificant groups out there that are a thorn to the wts. But are they a JW sect, really?
I am not arguing your technical definition of what is a sect.
Here are a couple of definitions:
1. nonmainstream religious group: a religious group with beliefs and practices at variance with those of the more established main groups Define"mainstream." Define "more established." According to this definition, Jws(movement) may be considered a sect. 2. religious denomination: a denomination of a larger religious group. According to this definition, JW is not necessarily a s sect, but here in this case sect is synonymous with denomination and anotherJW denomination according to this definition, would be considered a sect. No such denominations exist today except for insignificant splinter groups
There are other defintions that distinguish sects from "splinter groups" which in my opinion are the movements that you describe.
Everything considered about the wts history and past and present defection from the mainsream WTS, the WTS(JW) is a unique movement with no denominations(as of now) except for the splinters described.
But you have a freemind and you can belive what you like.
Above and beyond this nonsense. I thank you Blondie, for posting the wt mag. I value very much your years of hard work and your contributions to this site.

The part in the article about the annointed not having any special insight, does it include the GB? Since the FDS includes all " annointed" xtians on earth including the GB, seems to me that the special channel of communication is in question now because now any member can have the same or more insight. If not by HS, then it is by intellect or education unless the article means that God uses His HS on whoever he wants whether annointed or OS.
But what I think is important to realize is that ANY MEMBER, not just exclusively the GB, not just exclusively the FDS, can have the correct insight whether the GB or the FDS likes it or not. This induces the problem of who has the correct insight. It also seems to seperate God's annointed from insight.
The article implies that some JW's have more insight than others but such is not determined by calling status in the kingdom arrangement, the problem then is, who is right when there is a difference of opinion on insight and what special jw can make that determination? Such a dilema did not exist in Bible times(according to what the Bible states) when God communicated with special individuals qualifying them and inspiring them with SPECIAL information. ABe, Moses, the Judges, the Kings, the prophets, Jesus, Paul,..., were special in communication, knowledge, insight in comparison with others that God did not use.
I think, as it was posted previously that the purpose of the 1935 article is to justify previously selcted younger high ranking officials and to pave the way for younger smarter jws to supplant and step over the expected next in line old time "annointed" jw individual that logically would seem to be more qualified because after all he is one of the FDS by wts definition that had the apst and present job of dispensing food at the proper time, so it makes sense that such a person that will rule in heaven should occupy Apostle like positions, but now with this clever wt article it can be justified to reject a long time annoined and select a more desirable and smarter and more "spiritual" younger OS who can now all of a sudden decalre to be one of the annointed.

Would you say yes to a blood transfusion?
by Fisherman ini would like to get some honest answers about your position on blood transfusion.
as we get older, sooner or later we wind up in the hospital and the question they always ask is"...in the event.. would you accept blood?
" faced with that question, i answered no.
