You are right prologos, 2034 stretches the meaning of geneartion to the limit. No matter how you cut it, 2034 is the end of the line. 2014 is an intersting year too. I have my attention on 2014. I am expecting something remarkable should happen in 2014 (probably wrong but just hoping). But everyone will no matter what will wait until 2034. Have to see this hand through.

"Julia" what a beaitiful name!
Julia, no matter how many times the fire alarm goes off, the firemen must respond -not because it is their duty but becuase you never know if it is a real fire until you get there. And just like a boy that cries wolf again and again and again till the point that he loses credibility, as long as he is the watchman, just in case, and to be absolutely sure, you got see for yourself. And just like a lottery ticket, no matter how many times you got all the numbers wrong in the past, If you have played the lottery, you got see for yourself. All the past wrong numbers does not preclude wrong present numbers.

"Today, those in this second group are themselves advancing in years."
The above statement is intentionally dubious. It puts the reader in a position where he does not know what adavncing in years mean even though the writer DOES know what he MEANS. Writer does not reveal age but writer KNOWS the age of the second group. He wants to leave the reader wondering and thinking and believing.
According to the dictionary advanced years means od age (after age 65) So, advancing in years could mean getting old or before age 65 OR it could also mean getting older or it could also mean they are very old in age and adavncing to the end of the line. One thing for sure we are all advancing in years no matter how old or young. The statement does not comfort me, it frustrates me.

Great posts . A lot of information to consider.
Of course, we can discuss a lot of differnt relating topics here, but lets not loose focus. Everything is up for discussion, but the issue here is the revised WT "this generation" definition.
Given: 1914 WT teaching
What we are trying to examine objectively here is this new 'this generation" meaning (interlapping teaching is in question here) THAT IS IT. IF the 1914 genration passed away, that is iit. 1914 falls apart. BUT NOT ACCORDING TO THE NEW DEFINITION. According to the definition, "this generation" is still around and very old. AND they will see the GT.
My question is this, how old is the second group, their min and max ages. Actually, how old DO THEY SAY is the second group. Objectively, is interlapping scriptural?
Here is what the WT is saying: (now they have gone back and forth on what generation means so they dont know what it means) "The 1914 generationwill see the GT no matter what generation means" Nevertheless, generation meaning must be scripturally supported.
Personally, and I could be wrong; what do I know?; but to me, at the very least the interlappers MUST have been around in 1914

Splash,
I could be wrong. I do not know what the official teaching is and what the age gap between the 2 groups is. In all objectivity, the litterature that I have read is not specific about the age gap and allows for the second group to be around from beginning to the end of the sign. You seem to agree.
It is not logical to conclude that the "new light" is wrong before it proves to be wrong. No matter how many times the WT may have beem wrong in the past does not establish that they are wrong about the issue at hand.
