if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even christ has been raised.

Viv, every person mentioned in Hebrews 11 had proof from God -something that they observed and knew with certainty to be real- before they decided to have faith. Even myself, without convincing evidence, I would not be able to have any faith, my mind would not trust something subjective 100 percent. The mind trusts proof.

Given: Proof that God exists, proof that he cares, proof that he has power. -but no relief, for that faith is need.

Take for examples the wilderness trek, pillar of cloud, pillar of fire, the ten plagues, manna from the heavens, water from a rock, the red sea -and with all that proof Israelites still needed faith that God would keep his promise. This is jw 101.

Viv, proof is about the present. Faith is about the future. Let's say for example that a person prayed to God for solid proof and that person got that proof to his or her satisfaction. At first, such phenomenon would have a deep effect on a person but I guarantee that as remarkable as anything may seem, one gets used to it -and then it is about relief and not about proof. So here is where faith is needed. A person may reason, 'I know God exists for a fact, I know he cares about me; I have solid evidence, but so what, I suffer from depression, or I have such illness, or some loved one died, or some other horrible thing happened' -and you ain't getting relief NOW, you have to wait and maybe you figure that you have to die waiting. Some people get tired of waiting and walk away from all of the proof and just live for the present -but not if you have faith because you reason that based upon that real evidence, there is hope, relief will realize. But without solid proof, faith crumbles. At least for me; I need solid evidence of something in action that I can observe; and based on my present observations, I can predict future actions of that something, but only if that something proves to be faithful in the future -a chance I have to take. That chance is faith.

Spy camera wanted, motion activated, wireless, etc.

okay, it doesn't have to be a spy camera.. it must be something wireless that send signals to my android smart phone.

and some of those spy cameras seem to have fairly good features but they are also scary.

their descriptions are obviously translated from some other language and i would worry about decent customer support.. i'd simply like to be notified the moment a certain cabinet door (actually, two doors) is opened.

Your best bet is to buy something on ebay from China. They are cheap -under a hundred bucks, not a brand name item. The great thing about china is that you get all the bells and whistles and more for a great price.

Real evidence is what convinces the mind. The Bible records that consistently God always gave proof and never ever expected people to believe without solid evidence and that is why the Bible records that God gave Paul and those Christians back then sufficient proof. They had back then writings and testimonies, etc. but it was not enough to convince Paul until proof from God (according to the Bible) converted him. If such is true, then it is logical to conclude that today also God would also give equivalent evidence to convince people unequivocally that he exists and that he cares about people.

this thought occured to me that orthodox jews take the bible/old testament scriptures very seriously regarding the blood issue raised in scripture .. and this is certainly borne out in regard to the bleeding of animals before eating them ,kosher food.. the orthodox jews are far more stricter than jehovah`s witnesses in this application / interpretation of scripture ,and i am curious as to how they interpret and understand these scriptures.. how do they view blood transfusions in the medical world.?.

and is it only the orthodox jews that are expected to only eat kosher food ?

how about the ordinary believing jew with their religion.do they also only eat kosher food ?

The way Judaism is set up (seems to me) is that even if an act of idolatry would be required by Caesar from a Jew or death penalty -survival comes first- Torah would need to be interpreted in such a way to allow the idolatrous act. In the above posted linked commentary, it is stated by the chazal that the Sabbath should not be desecrated to save the life of a Gentile who is about to die without help -it is forbidden- but nevertheless the Sabbath should not be not treated as Holy, and a Gentile who is "pikuach nefesh" on the Sabbath should be rescued by a jew -not because non-jewish human life is worth more than keeping the Sabbath (based upon interpretation of the "sages") - but because of the risk to Jewish life if the Gentile is not rescued from the pit, and that is why it is not mechalel Shabat for a Jew to work to save the life of a Gentile on the Sabbath.

this thought occured to me that orthodox jews take the bible/old testament scriptures very seriously regarding the blood issue raised in scripture .. and this is certainly borne out in regard to the bleeding of animals before eating them ,kosher food.. the orthodox jews are far more stricter than jehovah`s witnesses in this application / interpretation of scripture ,and i am curious as to how they interpret and understand these scriptures.. how do they view blood transfusions in the medical world.?.

It is funny how it only takes one judge and 12 window washers to convict a man to die. According to Rabbinical law, it took 71 men, experts in law, to make such an adjudication, and if the verdict was unanimous (guilty) the man went free. But if he was condemned -no pit stop- he went directly from the temple (where the Sanhedrin met) to the place of execution and executed on the spot. After the Sanhedrin was moved to Jabne, they could not technically fulfill the legal requirements to execute anyone. According to Jewish law, even while Israel was under Gentile rule, any Jew desecrating Sabbath had to be stoned ( as long as the Temple stood.) When Israel was sovereign, even Gentiles could not publicly desecrate the Sabbath although they were not under Jewish law; Gentiles had to show respect.

On the other hand, Jesus' lineage shown in the NT is directly from King David. Just imagine some modern day "Jewish" "Messiah" with European roots! compare "I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star" Rev 22:16

According to (orthodox) Judaism, pikuach nefesh does not justify murder or suicide or putting one's life at a greater risk than the person who's life is at risk -to save the person. An orthodox jew is not allowed to enter inside a church or reformed synagogue even to save a life (that is to say,the place where worship takes place. A Jew may enter a room of a reformed synagogue not used for worship.) Chillul hashem (idolatry, blasphemy, etc.) is never allowed even to save one's own skin.

Only 2 Jewish movements survived 70 CE 1. Christianity: based on salvation from Jehovah 2. Pharisaic Jews: based on salvation from Caesar (We have no king but Caesar!) Circa 70* the Pharisees (Rabbi Yohanan) made a deal with Caesar and settled in Yavneh where they adapted laws to fit modern Judaism without beth hamikdash, installing themselves as leaders.
