I have dealt with a couple types of Islamics in the US. One type is passive; this type is not very observant, the other types are more observant, and the higher up you go in being observant, the more aggressive and expressions of forced change and punishment to those that break Islamic laws or do not embrace their religion.

So why exactly is it that Islam won't be able to change?
Your post makes logical sense but for Catholics the fiat comes from Rome and other Christian rival religions also have their heads who can dictate policy. Islam has no such ungered heads that can dictate change and the only fiat that can be expected is one with a car bomb.

change how? another prophet, another book? The only interpretaion of their holy book is literal, chopping of hands, stoning, and Isis, the most refined form since their holy prophet.

Compare Jeremiah 29:10 with Isaiah 50:1.
Isaiah 50:1 is prophetic, the Jews not in exile yet. Your referenced scripture is about the completion of 70 and does not establish its start, and its interpretation must also reconcile with 539-70.
Your belief depends upon interpretation but 607 depends upon 539. So unless you can debunk 539, 607 makes sense to me.

This isn't because the wt says as you can see.

Endure or Enjoy??

I always thought about that. Endurance means having to carry a load with no hope of immediate relief but a promise that relief will ultimately come. The long drawn out study articles are directed to those in pain, like Job. But also, in a general sense, it applies to everyone wanting to earn some reward; enduring 8 years of post graduate work to earn a medical degree and to complete the required medical training, for example. It pays off if you keep your eyes on the price.
