  due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.

  can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?

  would hate to lose all those good videos!

  God has no place in this discussion. This is about legal technicalities.

  Dubstepped, all of my posts on this thread focus on law except the one you reference which addresses comments such as yours which expressed gratification at losses suffered by the wt resulting from copyright infringement in the form of defending their property from people that feel angry for example at them.

  I can only speak for myself and the reason I try to obey God is because mostly the things that he forbids hurts others or myself. I also experience satisfaction and a feeling of peace and relief in my soul. I don't fear that God will punish me. I try to obey out of love. All it takes is the ransom, a ceremonial wash and God forgives but harm done cannot be undone. Also, God is my avenger; I look to him for justice and satisfaction and it is to him that I plead my case and he can do whatever it takes to bring me the relief that I wait for from him.

  This thread is about M&K being shut down based upon wt copyright infringement. If that is a lie and they are being shut down for other reasons or toses maybe this thread needs to be taken down by Simon.

  What is the WT's current stance on the age of the earth?

  the reason i ask is i remember reading quite recently, in i think an "awake" mag about creation, that other churches confuse people by insisting on young earth creationism, which causes people to lose their faith.

  the magazine was going off on groups and churches who insist on teaching science that conflicts with the bible (....).

  i thought the wt was a proponent of this young earth creationism as well.

  From another perspective, I know how it feels to be angry at someone. I also know how it feels to be wronged by somebody and the human thing to feel towards someone that we believe has wronged us is for that person to get what's coming to them (like some people in the wt for instance to some people) - and we don't need to hear what supporters or sympathysers of the such (someone like me) have to say, it makes us angry at the supporter for not backing us up. I have been there and I understand.

  But if anyone embarks on personal vengeance and feels he is justified in breaking the law, that person is making a serious mistake and could pay dearly.

  God is just and he will not allow those that have been wronged to go un-avenged. Also, taking things into your own hands is not the same as justice from God aka ironic justice (or vengeance, call it what you like). And just as long as you are friends with God, he will back you up even if you are partially in the wrong. If you get angry with God, it's like cutting off your nose to spite you face. And if a person defiantly fights against God or against his friends....we'll see what happens.

  John Cedars uses far more WT stuff than they do.

  Maybe, but wt can do whatever they legally like with their property same like everyone else can too.

  Two wrongs don't make a right and if the vids are breaking the law as wt believes, wt should be allowed to protect its interests just as anybody else. Look at how long the vids have been on YouTube. If it was some small time potato or somebody else being infringed upon, such would have sued for money.

  have da'd myself nearly 3 months ago.

  now i am part of this world but i feel myself the odd one out.

  something inside me is still blocking me to do the things i have been longing to do while i was still a jw, such as attending birthday parties, sex, etc.... just last nite, i was on the way to attend a birthday party.

  Jesus clearly described the consequences of practicing sin -fiery Gehenna. But if you don't believe in the Bible, you don't have to worry about that for now.

  JW have their good reasons for getting angry with WT for a lot of different reasons; some leave and some stay but that is not a justification for getting involved in sinful conduct such as adultery or stealing or other conduct that harms others or yourself which is a downward spiral that will suck you in to disaster. "The fool has said in his heart, there is no Jehovah."

  The "circle" of the earth

  a fair bit of time was spent discussing the (one) scripture in the bible that "proves" that when the bible touches on scientific subjects, it is absolutely correct.

  this was at the most recent clam meeting this past week.

  from isaiah, the reference to the "circle" of the earth.

  There is a difference between standing on a circle and balancing a convex surface below your feet.'dropping away over the horizon to your antipodes.

  That is how you view it. The verse is not describing the earth in relation to man but to God. A sphere is a circle no matter how you view it. What you describe is the flat surface of a 3D disc which looks circular depending on your view. It is not a circle in every direction unlike the earth.

  The verse says nothing about the earth being a flat disc. The verse only describes the earth as a circle -or a sphere according to wt.
