a friend of mine has contacts to a family with several circuit overseers and special pioneers.

they have good connections to bethel.. he told me that the latest rumor from bethel states that the cos should be abolished in their present form.

they have also recently begun to take cos back to bethel.. over the same channel i have already heard of the car fleet program and that the dos should be abolished.. has anyone else already heard of it?

Sounds good on paper. But I can tell you after trying everything, someone sharp has to physically go there to see what's actually going on to report back to the higher ups to straighten things out. Some expenses you can't do without. It doesn't mean wt will not figure some way to trim the TO expense or even as this thread suggest cut it out. You will still need someone to supervise each BO and the Cong in my opinion however wt works it out financially.

It seems to make financial sense but the body of elders sometimes deviate and so does the congregation and you need someone to keep them in line. In any organization, tight management is needed or things will get out of control. JW congregations are no exception.

Help! Mike & Kim videos all being deleted by Youtube

due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.

can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?

would hate to lose all those good videos!

That's what Fair Use legal proceedings are all about.

Fisherman - Do you agree that a society that promoted rape, random murder and rapacious theft would not perfectly promote human well being?
Agree to a limited degree. But take slavery of the blacks in the US . Murder and rape did not apply to them. Also, exploitation of human beings all over the world so that countries like the US, can prosper. So, well- being for who? Sorry if I do not grasp what you mean.

Cofty there is a lot to read and think about. I need time to think about everything you posted but you can continue to explain and expand. Only trying to understand. I don't have a handle on this Topic. I am reading and thinking and expressing some feelings that's it. If you got your arm around this ok. If you got something solid to offer, consider it your thread. I am all ears for anyone who has gotten to the core of this.

would define it as a mutual understanding accepted regardless of its basis in reality.
Aren't those laws? Doesn't morality have to do with sexual conduct, deception and debauchery (personal conduct)in every society?

Morality is just the name we give to our concerns about how our actions affect other conscious beings. So yes of course it exists.
We would still be concerned about the implications of our actions on the well-being of other creatures.
Is killing other creatures,for example, for self preservation or for the preservation of our loved ones the moral thing to do? And I don't only mean self defense.
I am only probing Cofty, and I don't have a handle on this topic and not trying to prove you wrong. Post away. I read and think about what is posted. If I don't grasp, explain away.
Morality is not arbitrary, neither is it simply a social construct.
What is it then or give a solid example. All you have said that it is a feeling about our actions as they affect the well being of others. Concern is subjective. You are concerned about how pollution affects fish and me too but I am also concerned about the ocean - not having trash floating around regardless of the fish. Some people won't eat fish or other creatures for moral reasons, others don't care. What concerns are you talking about and based on what?

Not in the US for example -Laws are social constructs, not morality.
Convictions of theft, rape and murder are based on laws not morality. Should it be theft, rape and murder to conquer another Nation for self preservation and to prosper. Well being for who?
What makes killing immoral is not the action but the reason behind it. Same as taking something that belongs to somebody else not automatically immoral.
