  this just in from the 2017 annual meeting:.

  1. watchtowers and awakes won't be released regularly, at least three watchtower and awakes per year.

  6 magazines a year.. 2. a new book is being released: remain in god's love, more of an update like how they did for the what does the bible really teach book.

  Cost reduction that's it. Everything else is a guess.

  People read into things too much and conclude too much.

  If mags were producing money or results, they wouldn't be cut. But seems that producing them are an expense and at least the same results or more can be expected with fewer mags at a great savings, same goes for other literature. This is also part of an ongoing transition into dIrecting people to JW. Org and to personally download digital literature except for the very elderly for which the written word was originally intended for in this digital era. I am puzzled that wt is projecting preaching past this year and into 2 years from now. I don't know what to guess . We will see what happens.

  Do you mean to say that only 3 issues of the wt magazine will be released per year. Is that including digital or do you mean to say that only 3 paper issues of the wt will be available in paper form.

  Also there is the public wt and the study edition wt. What do you mean that only 3 issues will be released per year????

  U.K. NHS Attitude to Blood Transfusion and its Safety

  while visiting someone at the local hospital i saw this leaflet " will i need a blood transfusion ?

  - patient information" .

  now i was raised in the belief that doctors are transfusion-happy and just give you one willy nilly if they operate , further that a trans.

  As far as I can tell, as a layman, if you live in the developed world Blood transfusions are as safe as any other medical procedure and the WTS is misleading it's members to say different !

  If a person has lost a couple of gallons of blood or so, what is riskier, death or a blood transfusion? But a person getting a BT can only hope the blood is safe --You just don't know. But for a jw, it doesn't matter, he has already decided beforehand that he is prepared to die rather than to get a safe or risky BT.

  Paradise? Was it?

  paradisewas it really paradise to be in paradise?adam and eve never were held by a mother, never cuddled and sung to with a lullaby nor nursed or coddled with tenderness or any human familial embrace.

  the first humans (adam and eve) never learned to toddle surrounded by brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles and grandparents cheering them on.

  the entire experience of childhood was excised surgically like a trauma patient awakening from an accident with amnesia.adam and eve were never in a neighborhood with other kids forming friendship bonds for life and exchanging dreams and hopes for a future they were building in their community.

  I don't think that type of question toward the original poster is fair.

  All I meant to say is that God was Adam and Eve's mother and father and that couldn't have been so bad, if you know what I mean.

  Sounds to me like you never experienced any real intimacy with God. Or maybe you forgot.

  Help! Mike & Kim videos all being deleted by Youtube

  due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.

  can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?

  would hate to lose all those good videos!

  Does Morality Exist?

  some people believe that stealing, lying and killing, is not moral.

  some people don't.. does morality exist?

  you don't accept the idea that morality is simply a social construct. - TD

  Even if enforceable laws based on arbitrary standards did not exist, right and wrong actions exist, socially constructed in cooperation for the purpose of well-being as expressed on this thread. But all that is, is well-being and labeled as morality -also expressed by a poster. Another poster expressed that the concern for the well-being of others, also known as empathy, was not given to humans by God but evolved in the human organism as a result from successful cooperation that resulted in prosperity. So concern and other human "virtues" are not endowed by God but are merely mechanisms that evolved for the purpose of survival of the species originating from successful cooperation or social construct. If this is what you are saying that morality is, there is nothing moral about morality. It is only a device that evolved for the purpose of the survival of the species. That is all it is. And our feelings are lying to us. And "morality"is only a gimmick designed by evolution to survive as a species for no other purpose than to exist successfully and to survive - and then die.

  I enjoyed reading many of the posts although I did not express that to each of the posters.

  The WT is not the only one who lost...Where the hale is Fisherman? Somewhere sulking and pouting for sure!

  My posts on this thread were replies to other post stating that KM violating copyright laws is the moral thing to do. I never stated that KM should loose or would loose. I have consistently posted that if KM violated copyright laws or violated a Court Order whether or not the Court is moral, KM would pay a price. How did I loose?

  How did Wt loose since wt material continues to be copyright protected and still subject to Fair Use? Also, Fair Use is not a license to use copyright material indiscriminately other than within the parameters of Fair Use.

  Also how did WT loose? Aren't KM still worried? Didn't KM say that wt is not pursuing the case until wt attorneys actually argue the case in KM's venue?

  Need help understanding the Overlapping Generation teaching

  so this is a topic that seriously boggles my mind and please correct me if i'm wrong.

  to me, the jw definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now.

  david splane used the example of fred franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today.

  When a group of people are trying to solve a crossword puzzle, sometimes they get stumped on a word, so everyone agrees to write down some word in pencil and if it doesn't fit the puzzle, they erase it and write down the other word in pencil until the puzzle is solved. Sometimes a word seems at first to fit the puzzle but later on it does not. So until the word is invalidated, it is valid. --Just a guess.
