How are they not Catalonian? Isn't that for them to decode.
Fact is they are Spaniards. If they want to try break away from Spain calling themselves Catalanes, it's up to them but they better have Spanish legislation to ground on providing for that.

They should have allowed the Catalonian people a democratic vote on their future. What happened to the right to self determination?
Well, us colonials had a civil war back in the 1800's about something like that. I think "the South" wanted independence too. Nowadays, maybe the US should reconsider and allow any state that wishes to break away, to put it to a vote? Or should the US government bring in the National Guard if such was to happen?
They are not Catalonian people, they are Spaniards.

Years ago, I found myself on the NW part of Iberia. Walking down the street, I briefly stopped to look inside the glass storefront of a local shop when I was immediately detained by a plain clothes armed man identifying himself as Gardua Civil who accused me of being a Basque terrorist. I was in schock, all I did was to look inside the glass pane into the store. I was with a relative when he stopped me. Now, I am a white guy, blonde hair and my relative is a mountain of a man, red hair, measuring almost 7 feet tall and spoke excellent Spanish -we look nothing like the Basques. In a couple of minutes he figured out we were harmless. He started to laugh, shook our hands and invited us to the "Cafe" which was actually a very fancy Sports Bar. He ordered for us food and drinks non-stop and totally refused that we pay for anything. We were there for a couple hours. (I talked nothing about JW.) The Spaniard police officer turned around what would be remembered as a bad experience into a very fond memory. Where in Europe or where in the world would an encounter with law enforcement turn out so pleasant? --Only in Spain.
I noticed that the people of Spain look like the French, mostly European looking except in the NW; Here people look more like the Scandanavian and German. Some of the men had facial features of someone that just got off an old Viking ship. But I've been told that anyone that can prove ancestry from Spain can enjoy citizenship and its benefits, thus the demographics of Spain is changing with a lot of immigration from South America. The country is very nice and the people are very sincere.

When children cannot legally consent to sex, how can they consent to marriage? So by the same token, marriage to a child cannot be voluntary. Children have sexual feelings too and when children have sex with other children and there is a pregnancy, seems that parents can legally turn the event into a shotgun wedding. What is disturbing to most people though, is how can it ever be legal for an adult to marry or to have sex with a child, but that is the way the law is crafted. ( An 18 year old is too young to consume alcohol but old enough to be killed in a battlefield -go figure.) It is unthinkable to understand how the mind of some adult can even consider getting any sexual gratification from an infant child and such a person can't offer any acceptable defense to a horrified jury. But when the age of the child is such that the child can legally marry, an accused child molestor of a child of such age can point to the law showing that it is perfectly legal to have sex with children only not in his case for whatever legal reasons he is being brought up on charges for the act, and from a legal perspective, the defense can show that there is nothing to be horrified about having sex with children of the age that are having sex already, pointing to the law.

It was there all along. I posted the link on the first page only after a couple of post. I didn't come in in the middle of a discussion so how much more substance is there besides my reply to the posts before mine. But you changed your tune!
