Not at all. There was no parousia involving the whole earth in 70 and a Millennium that followed. Also, Jesus returns invisible riding a war horse before the great tribulation.

The comparison of the parousia to the Flood of Noah emphasizes the suddenness of the event that will END an ongoing state of affairs. What was arriving to those on the earth was the Flood itself; it wasn't "invisibly present" beforehand.

You forgot to mention the ark being built and completed and Noah’s preaching ( a preacher of righteousness). They took no note. Jesus told the Pharisees: “ The kingdom of God os in your midst” It didn’t catch anybody by surprise, Noah was expecting a flood and the people were aware a flood was coming for 120 years. They just didn’t believe it. They were eating and drinking and rejecting the message from God. So the flood did not come unexpectedly without knowledge or warning. They were told that they were living in the time of the end. Noah didn’t know the day or the hour but he knew he was living in the time of the end. So, the flood did not come suddenly in the sense that nobody was expecting it to happen. The Parousia like the days of Noah involves a period of time, the time of the end identified by the sign of christ presence and people rejecting the good news of the kingdom until the climax when the son of man is revealed.

During the time of the end Jesus is riding a white horse so that is part of the Parousia First he came on a colt finally on a horse of war. He certainly is present riding that horse, conquering tilll a completion and other horses follow. “ Go subdoing in the MIDSTS of your enemies.” The Messiah was also invisible to the Jews. He was an elephant in the room performing miracles and doing God’s work in their midsts.

It was about Noah and the ark not about the flood. The flood was against God’s enemies, the ark and Noah for his friends. The sign of the son of man like the flood is for God’s enemies that didn’t take note.

Tribulation isn't spiritual in any way.

You miss the point. You said that to the Jews ww2 was greater. My point is that the destruction of Jerusalem was the end of Jewish world nothing was greater not even ww2 as I explained. My other post show that both Jesus at the olivette and the rest of the Bible refer to a tribulation that involves the entire earth prior to the millennium. My reply only applies to the destruction of the Bible Jews and the end of the Jewish world. Not to be compared to ww2 or any other destruction comes close.

There are 2 parallel destructions referred to at the olivette, the great tribulation that applies to the end of Jewish world centered on the holy Temple and the great tribulation involving all of humanity

it has since been revealed that while they will die before armageddon, there will be some anointed still around that will witness the start of the great tribulation.. so the question is, how many years until the existing members of the governing body have passed away?.

im not a doctor, but based on their age and various stages of obesity, im thinking 10- 15 years- give or take, sounds about right.. with that in mind, the great tribulation could be announced any day.. the new understanding has now freed the org from the burden of having to identify a particular generation in relation to the date of armageddon.

They are convinced that the WTS teachings are all true.

Some are convinced of everything but not the thinkers. After so many explanations for generation, there is skepticism about interlapping and limited nuclear disasters too. Unless a horse talked to you, one shouldn’t be guessing and going beyond the things written.

Hi Blondie,

Thanks for bringing that out. Maybe they will use antimatter too after the big A. WT has been wrong time and time again in their commentary explaining the Bible but 7x and the gt is still holding up. Who actually goes to heaven with JC etc, we will see when the time comes. Also, whether wt timing is off and factoring the human element of the religion, JW are convinced it is God’s agency and the prophecies about Paradise earth are true.

he is claiming that he would return in the lifetime of his listeners.

It could be argued that he did small scale, after his resurrection, to Paul, in the book of Revelation. And in the book of Revelation written after 70, he says that he is coming quickly to those Christians destined to die and go to heaven. So they had all that evidence back then of Jesus dealing with them miraculously— but no Millenium. They all died. —But time passes quickly when you are dead. Same with JW today. They don’t need any more evidence and signs. They look for the end game. But some of the Apostles saw the transfiguration back then and were convinced and saw him resurrected etc. However, most died including Peter and Paul before seeing the fulfillment of the Olivette. But they died convinced so do JW today.

jerusalem" coming down to Earth

It is a heavenly entity and not part of the earth at that time. Jesus and the elite that make up the Messianic kingdom and rule from the heavens But the point of Jesus word trampling is Gentile ruling, until the appointment times of the nations when the kingdom was established in the heavens according to Rev which is the allusion in Luke. So, the Olivette refers to the destruction of Jerusalem which happened in 70 and to the end of Gentile Times. If you don’t want to believe that happened in 1914, ok but the Parousia is connected to the end of the Gentile times.

Judaism rejects the Greek Scriptures and Jesus as playing any role in God’s purpose. The destruction of Jerusalem did not convince them, but we will all see if that is true when the son of man in revealed.

Interestingly in Luke 21:24 at the Olivette, Jesus refers to the Gentile Times. So there is a connection between the Gentile Times and the Parousia seen here.

One could erroneously conclude that the trampling of Jerusalem would begin in 70. But, keep in mind that Jerusalem was destroyed once before in 607 and continued under Gentile rule. Amazing that Jesus would allude to the 7x at at Olivette! with the poetic word trampling. It is also amazing that therafter a heavenly Jerusalem is spoken of in the Christian Scriptures that cannot be trampled on because it is not on the earth.
