That is true. I’ve pointed that out on this forum but what was WT implying vis-à-vis what you conclude they meant?
i'm sure this has been discussed, but 1914 has to go away.
instead of, the overlapping generation teaching, they should have just ditched 1914. .
they should have done that a long time ago with 1975. it's the last of the teachings in the charles taze russell era.. i'm thinking they just will stop talking about it, and it will be out of the mind of the rank and file loyal witnesses .

the bible records miracles such as resurrections, angels, prophecy and destructive acts of god to mention a few.
are these all a pack of lies?
how do you explain them?
There are tens of thousands of witnesses to the miracles of Shirdi Sai Baba
People say the same thing after taking an aspirin. Let me know when he has the power to resurrect the dead from the cemetery or give sight to the blind or hearing to deaf minus glasses or a hearing aid. But that guy is another subject. If the Bible writers were lying then the Bible is a fraud but reading the Psalms and other Bible books of wisdom, those guys weren’t lying, I’ve concluded. Only my conclusion but I haven’t detected deception.

Waton, how do believe the writers were lying?

Smid, The GLORIOUS one would be very puny if his splendor could be measured empirically.—Although God gives empirical evidence to believers to validate their faith as real. A Witness that testifies to his belief is not very interesting nor his testimony material and not even a witness unless he experienced an event and is testifying to what his senses measured the event.

Not everybody goes to heaven because at some point in time people, like Adam could have, will eat from the tree of life and death will be no more neither will outcry or pain be anymore.
confessing to a crime lands a person in jail or worse.
there is a very interesting out of context commentary in a law book under the topic that describes the role of a child advocate that explains how humans intrinsically want and need to be free at all costs without encumbrances.
(in germany for example, the government recognizes this basic need and doesn't penalize jail escapes.
Confessing to a crime lands a person in jail or worse. There is a very interesting out of context commentary in a law book under the topic that describes the role of a child advocate that explains how humans intrinsically want and need to be free at all costs without encumbrances. (In Germany for example, the government recognizes this basic need and doesn't penalize jail escapes.) a Defense attorney will do EVERYTHING to win his client’s freedom “within the bounds of law” in other words everything he can get away with and everything he can get away with without getting caught. So confessing to a crime doesn’t help because the State doesn’t want to help you, they want to hang you.The difference with confessing to a minister is that he is supposed to HELP a sinner in s spiritual way. A person’s conscience has a way of disturbing the person to the point that he would want to confess sins to feel better. Not every religious system practices confession like Christianity (and I use tge term loosely). In some religions, they don’t have confessions. JW religion teaches that God can forgives sins when a person feel guilty and not the religious tribunal that adjudicates repentance but confessions are required because a person may not qualify any longer to be a fellow sheep of the herd. But generally speaking, should a person confess his sins to his church or is it between God and the person at the non office level. Of course, when appointed to a spiritual position, a person that commits a serious sin should resign from office even if he doesn’t want to confess. A Christian should not go around flagrantly sinning but humans sin all the time in one way or another and when that happens and confesses, people won’t respect the person anymore . He doesn’t have freeness of speech anymore and has to go around as a third class member and never ever recover. He is ruined in relation to how he is viewed and dealt with. A person of integrity would not hold office if he has sinned. Even if the church forgives him people won’t have a high regard for him. I would like to know people’s feelings on this from interpretation of the Bible. Must a person confess his sins to the church? Is confession mandated by God?
“supplies of offensive weapons to the kyiv regime would lead to a global catastrophe,” state duma chairman vyacheslav volodin said.
“if washington and nato supply weapons that would be used for striking peaceful cities and making attempts to seize our territory as they threaten to do, it would trigger a retaliation with more powerful weapons.”.
what is russia implying?
No, Russia is not bluffing,
According to a news report, US and Germany are sending weapons. So that’s a call. But remember how the economic sanctions backfired and it is the. US people that are feeling the economic sting. The weapons will be used to unalive Russian soldiers so at least the parents of those boys want vengeance too. Unless they have Russia over a barrel, expect another sting. If the country wasn’t in such bad shape, maybe you could believe they know what they are doing but when you look at the economic disaster and other touches of Russian tats, it makes you feel uneasy and waiting for something worse to happen— but who knows.
By the way, I went Hemo Dopet for something What a waste of time.

God never demandeda ransom.
Depends on how you interpret that he demanded a ransom. Off the top of my head verbatim:
” God gave his only begotten son so that those exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.” And “Father, .. let this cup pass..your will.” So you see, the ransom was something that God required or demanded in order to satisfy his standard of justice so he could save mankind without offending his attribute of justice. Adam had not excuse to sin but imperfect humans can argue as king David said in the Psalms, that they were born that way so on what just standard could God abandon mankind without demanding justice —that is to say, the ransom. I understand you have your own theology- that I totally disagree with- but in terms of legal and justice from God’s point of view the question arises that Alan F highlighted. Of course your view is respected and your commentary is appreciated at least by me. But I hope you at least understand the point Alan F made.
