i have been struggling(as you know) with depression and feeling like crap...finally the depression lifted enough that i got off the meds yahooo but i still was sluggish (read sloth-like) unable to be the happy, laughing person i remembered from 2000 before my life spiraled.

thunder has tried everything and i just decided to laugh even if i didn't feel like laughing and smiling even though i didn't.

it wasn't him or my life just the risidual effects of low-grade depression.

For all those who have started or answered abuse threads lately.. :)

there seem to have been a lot of threads lately on the subject of parental abuse and quite a few of us are still finding this really hard to cope with.

i've been reading them and not getting uset as i would have done a while ago and was wondering why.i think i've finally worked it out and was just wondering if what i did could help you in the way it helped me.

i had a physically and emotionally abusive home life until i left home at eighteen.i spend years alternatively trying to come to terms with it and blocking it all out.

I am so very happy that you got the closure alot of us seek from our abusers!!! I know it was rough and I'm so sorry for the abuse you had...

After many years [many, many years] of trying to figure out what happened to me, my wife found two folks who live in my town who are on the right track. They are husband and wife, M.D. and Therapist Charles and Barbara Whitfield with several great books between them on this subject. After dealing with doctors for half of my life, it took me a week to realize they are on the right track and now I have what I consider some very valuable tools. Check out these links:

Never Told Anyone this...

... but i think it would help me to relate it now.. a day before a big convention in montreal [i must've been 8 years old] my mother, who was running late as usual, was trying to get ready for an appointment.

she was frantic and needed the bathroom mirror.

i'm sitting on the commode and i remember finding a thrown out metal flimsy paper towel rack in the garbage so, i pick it up and i'm trying to bend it around, my mother storms into the bathroom, grabs the towel rack and screams, 'you know i'm in a hurry' and bashes my head in on top!

yo - do u see yourself - obsessing about the wtbts or whatever the hell they call themselves - all this beautiful intellect spent on thoughts of an alleged abuser u all allegedly left - oh my - free yourselves - you didn't leave - u r all in this funky stage of mourning and hatred and realization that not all lovers are true - but, forgive my rambling - i have a question here, what do you think they did to mess with your minds so much that u r still obsessing?

I felt a different pain that day. I reached up to feel my head and I see blood on my hands. That's when I start screaming. My brother (who was 12) runs into the bathroom and takes care of my bleeding head. My mother knew what she had done and left the house quickly.

My brother stops the bleeding, shaves my head around the wound, and puts a bandaid on the wound. The next thing I remember is that it's about 4am , I'm sitting in the back of the car. We are driving -not to a hospitol but to Montreal for the convention. I overhear my mother and my brother talking about my injury and I hear "he could die"! I immediately speak up asking them what's going on. They nervously say "Nothing's going on. We'll be at the assembly in a couple of hours".

This was a hard memory for me...I wonder where my anger stems from. I guess this is a start.

I was sent to the mental ward. Why?

a few months ago, i was sent to the mental ward.

well, this is how it happened.

my mom started barking at me for quitting my last job, even though she knew at my last job, i had to go to the psych unit for lockup because i broke down on the job and i couldn't keep it.

I can identify...all too well and, I am so sorry.

This sounds like how I grew up. I'm having physical reactions while trying to type. The abuse [physical, emotional and spirtitual] is devestating. I DO know and remember how this feels. Please get someone in your corner immediately, someone who knows what's going on. You are your mother's AND BROTHER'S DUMPING GROUND.

I hope for the best. We are here to help.

i was raised a jw, seriously studied the bible, consumed it, and in my decades, found very few jws or non-jws who knew it as well as i. i love god's word, the bible.

i left the jws as a teen/young man, df'd for fornication, with no witnesses, and i never showed for the judicial commitee.

when i came back in (in my 20s) and was re-instated, i was "super jw", very zealous, and very vocal and knowlegeable of the bible.
