What is "the Report"?

i just ran across http://www.livingwatersforum.com with its heading proclaiming: "the yorww congregation speaks as a 'voice in the wilderness' to all the congregations of jehovah's witnesses--isaiah 40:3.

" they consider themselves jehovah's witnesses and are concerned with the watchtower society's apostasy and are therefore calling all jehovah's witnesses to repentance.

their spokesperson is donald c. burney, who is also the author of "the report" book.

This document asserts that Jehovah's Witnesses are guilty of espousing or sponsoring teachings that are not in harmony with God's will, such as the teaching of 1914 being the year of Christ's Heavenly enthronement and many others. Jehovah's Witnesses are in danger of being found in the end, "false witnesses" of God and having their worship
rendered completely "in vain." (1 Cor. 15:15; Matthew 15:8, 9) And in the end, THE "REPORT" document highlights that only a small portion, the "humble" among them, will indeed survive this ordeal and experience true spiritual "restoration." (See Matthew 17:11) Zephaniah 3:11, 12 says:

"In that day you [Israel] will not be ashamed because of all your dealings with which you
transgressed against me, for then I shall remove from the midst of you your haughtily
exultant ones; and you will never again be haughty in my holy mountain. And I
shall certainly let remain in the midst of you a people humble and lowly, and they will
actually take refuge in the name of Jehovah."

As the prophecies indicate, "restoration" for the "humble" among "Israel" will be permanent, everlasting, since the verse says:

"You will never again be haughty in my holy mountain." - See also Amos 9:15

I'm finding this to be interesting...someone else calling the Dubs out on their 'terms'...

BINGO! The year and a half I've spent on these boards has shown me that this statement is very important to consider. As dubs,our minds were trained to think a certain way. Without deep deprogramming, the basic framework stays the same and is suceptible to the next pushy 'salesmen' or the 'last great idea I heard'.

I have to study, with the same fervor I did as a dub, mind altering material that will re-train the mindset the WTS gave me from birth. Not an easy task...

I am new here, former JW left years ago.

how it began: i was recruited during the time i was escaping from a violent husband to a shelter.

a witness came to my door as i was preparing to move during the day without him knowing (while he was at work).

JW at my door this weekend

my neighborhood gets worked about 1 or 2 times a year - and since i have been out a long time, and moved from another city, the jw's here do not know that i used to be one.. so - this poor unsuspecting man stopped on my doorstep saturday morning to share a scripture with me about the "last days" that we are living it.

i took the opportunity to point out that his organization has predicted armageddon more than once and it did not happen (of course - slipping in deut 18 about the false prophet .

he started to try and explain the whole 1975 fiasco when i stopped him and said that i was referring to their claim that armageddon would come before the generation of 1914 had passed away.. would you believe - he sat there on my doorstep and lied to my face telling me that the jw's never taught that armageddon would come before the generation of 1914 passed away .

i have mixed feelings about this...and i'm by no means a wt apologist/sympathizer...flagler students who refuse pledge no longer counseled.

I think I now know what bugged me about that article:

I just remembered being treated like a freak in school. They sent me to the school shrink [who turned out to be a very nice man] like ..well I'll stop there cause I'm still sad about all that crap. And knowing that there are mutitudes of kids going through this nonsense for a cult makes me insane...

They just won't let them be children, will they...

I hate my Mom from keeping me away from my Dad's side of the family!

I have a JW mother like that!

Last August I finally went to a family reunion and met everyone on my father's side of the family after a lifetimke without them. I realize why she did what she did: she's insane! They pretty much confirmed all of the things I put together myself. They were reluctant to say anything bad about her until I sat one of my uncles down and gave him my perception of life with her. He spilled the beans and told me things that just made me shake my head...this woman who has yet to come to grips with her abuse...but I digress.

Situations like yours can drive me mad...but in time and effort, I believe we can overcome the damage these narcissistic controllers put on us. Hang in there.
