Great news. The WTS did not commit spiritual prostitution with UN.

UN thing was one of the main things why I and my wife disassociated ourself from the congregation.
It was very stupid move from the WTS because they got caught with pants down. Also when WTS asked to be dissassociated from NGO-relationship it proves that their NGO-association was improper. I have not heard if anybody from GB has been disfellowshipped or given reproof because of that or if they have apologized it.
Top of hypocrisy: WTS also presented NGO-association of other churches as an evidence that those have put their hope in UN (without mentioning "NGO" -word of course) (Watchtower 6/1/1991 p.17) http://www.randytv.com/secret/drunkards.htm -

Does the Policy of the Watchtower Create a Safe Haven for Child Molesters?

does this "sound" fair & balanced, you decide.

This is what the courts say about that. Yes, they should pay. So far 1.5 billion dollars because they reassign child molesters to different parts of the country unlike JWs who df practicing child molesters and never allow them to be servants.
How about this court case against Watchtower ?
Around 1978 Villegas began sexually abusing another young girl aged about 7, but she told her father who reported it to the congregation elders. Following Watchtower instructions, the congregation elders gave Villegas private reproof. but they neither reported the abuse to the authorities nor warned congregation members, which allowed Villegas to continue to molest other children. Over the next 20-plus years, Watchtower continued to appoint Villegas to leadership positions within the organisation. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/8/116108/1.ashx

A former molester known to be such by the elders is a known child molester since the elders are part of the congregation
But elders aren't the congregation and the community as whole. The BOE letter stated about "known" molestor and about reasons why "known" molestor cannot be appointed again:
"people in the community would not respect him"
"People" won't know if a molestor has received private reproof and when authorities have not been informed about the crime.

Even if he is repentant—is cut to the heart and is thus resolutely determined to avoid such conduct in the future—what was stated in the January 1, 1997, issue of The Watchtower applies. The article said: "For the protection of our children, a man known to have been a child molester does not qualify for a responsible position in the congregation.
BOE Letter 03/14/1997 states, that "known" child molester means that the community and the congregation knows about the crime. Those will not know about it if molestor has received private reproof and it has not been reported to the authorities.
The very same BOE letter only urges elder bodies to make report and send it to the WTS about someone, who has been a child molestor and afterwards is now in position of authority in the conregation. The BOE letter also forbids querying individuals if they have been molestors before their babtism.

Fair minded person with a fair point of view
by keo15929 ini have been one of jehovah's witnesses for about 9 years before i became inactive.
i just had some comments i'd like to make.. i think the reason why i'm inactive now is because i've come to a point in my life where i feel obligated to admit that i just don't know.
at one time i was as fiery and zealous of a witness as anyone could be but i had this nagging feeling that i really didn't know what i was talking about when i was witnessing to people.

Welcome keo.
I agree with you that most of ordinary Jehovah's Witnesses are good, sincere people.
When it comes to WTS leaders, there is indisputable evidence about pure evil actions they have done (e.g. refusal to inform all hemophilicas about change in the doctrine in '70s) and continue doing (e.g. protection of child abusers using organizational policies). It almost makes me believe that there is a personal Devil althought I consider myself an agnostic.
WTS leaders have blood on their hands. -

Quote from the site:
------
Why did the DPI state in an e-mail that requirements for association of NGOs has not changed since 1991?
- The UN staff member who wrote that widely-circulated e-mail is wrong.

Yeah, right..... so much for challenging. -

it is interesting to note that clive thomas (canadian branch office) spoke during his part in such a way as to betray the fact that he was personally aware that what he was saying was false.. it's one thing when a local onion gets exuberant about parroting the gb's nonsense.
it's quite another when a bloodsucker like clive comes from the branch and does a "bait 'n switch" the way he did.

They also kept repeating how "slandering-campaing in internet" has nothing to do with zero-growth or slight decrease. Their official reasoning goes so that because witnesses have been 100 years in Finland, there are many old witnesses who die and mortality percentage is 1.5 percent among witnesses.

Last weekend in Finland in "No Opposing Weapon or Tongue Will Succeed." speech:
First there was something about trial in Germany where JW's achieved victory this year (recognition as a Corporation of Public Right).
"It looks like apostates have their international network where they are changing thoughts with apostates around the world. They have thoughts -- and if some government has made some decision it soon appears on every apostates computer and they are thrilling about it in their own area. Please, do not ever push that apostate-button. It is not --- it should be removed from all computers."
