  i see the same thing happening here that happened on another site a couple of years ago.

  all of this complaing about moderation.

  i just can't believe it.. think of it this way.

  I just wanted to say Thank you to Hilary for the previous threads on some of the rules of this board.

  I come on this and see the "discussions" going about something that was said in another post and I'm completely in the dark. Then I wonder if perhaps I have done or said something at any time I didn't know was against the rules of the board...I don't think I have as I use common sense and would never want to offend anyone, but then I wonder. So, I agree with whoever said it, that it would be a good idea for somewhere when you first sign on to have all the rules posted and maybe even an "Accept" of "Don't Accept" box to check...that way there's no question. If you don't accept, then you need to find another forum to belong to.

  Everything in life has to have rules, we can either choose to follow them or go some place else where the rules are different. Isn't that why we left the WTBTS?

  i was raised a witness, so i had no choice till i could live on my own.

  Pretty much "raised" as one.

  I have to agree those that become a part of it now...it's a self-esteem issue and 99.999% of the time those that join and get baptized are dysfunctional people who cannot live in this world on their own, without someone else telling them what is right and wrong and what to do and what not to do.

  I once thought this theory of mine was going to be thrown out the window when a double board certified female doctor of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry became one of Jehovah's Witnesses about 6/7 years ago.....WRONG!!! After she became baptized and I got to know her....oh my gosh!...she was more dysfunctional than many of her own patients!!!!! On the other hand, it was nice to be proven right again with my theory!

  Is there anything that could make you go back?

  is there anything that could make you go back?.

  what do you think, is there any change of belief or change of circumstance that could make you return to the jw fold?.

  i cant see anything that could make me go back,but i was thinking mabye some of you religious types would go back if they changed some doctrinal things,or if they stopped banning blood.. how about if a family member was dying and hoped to see you in paradise would you go back for a while just to make them feel happy?

  I have to agree with Amazing. ONLY IF they changed their policy on DFing. It is absolutely the most unloving, judgmental, harsh, rude, unjust manner in which one fellow human being could treat another....and these people were SUPPOSED TO BE our "brothers and sisters" and EASILY wrote us off! What really infuriates me is most of them don't even know WHY they are shunning me except like puppets on a string, they were told to!

  Anyway, they'd also have to change their policies on child molesters....especially since my father is one of them and is in good standing within the congregation....(this FINAL decision on the matter just made within the last few weeks...a case where the Dateline exposure didn't change one damn thing in this congregation and all steps were taken through the "direction of the Governing Body" I was told!)

  So pretty much the answer is NO!!!!!!

  Ironic......my birthday was yesterday and I bumped into my "good standing, child molester, JW father" in a restaurant where my coworkers were celebrating my birthday with me.....s and today is YOUR birthday and you're being disfellowshipped this day for trying to do something about the sick ways the WTBTS protectss perpetrators and revictimizes the innocent!

  (I started a letter to you telling you my story and accidentally sent it before finishing. I have recently personally experienced a "Dateline" experience myself. The local elders contacted the GB who gave them directions on how to handle the "situation" and in conformity with the Dateline showing, they AGAIN protected the perpetrator and REVICTIMIZED my sister and I! It's only been a couple of weeks since the elders "sent their report to the Society," but it looks like they are not going to do a thing! What really pisses me and my sister off is the fact that that's all they wanted....just the facts. However, because I'm DF'd and my sister has not attended in over a year our statements were pretty much minimized and one of the elders merely said, "At one point forgiveness has to begin." I was disgusted and told them so. Anyway, my sister and I await to see if he's removed as a ministerial servant. HIGHLY DOUBTFUL as they see him as a "changed man" and the fact that he expressed so much concern for "the congregation." They totally missed the fact that he didn't express any concern for his own daughters! And the fine, "concerned" local elders....well, they didn't express ANY kind of empathy, sympathy, compassion or understanding either....NOT ONE WORD!)

  Anyway.....spill it all! I'm supporting you 1,000,000 percent!!!!!!!

  i'd like to read it.

  i've been df'd for 2+ years now and i heard through my sister that my mother is wanting to contact me, but she's having "trouble" with the decision.
