Thanks everyone for your thoughts, I found them interesting.
Amazing how a simple question can evoke such different responses.
I ask this question in innonence, yet I get a comment that its 'insulting and foolish.' Can't a person ask an innoncent question without attaching a wrong motive to it? Why are certain questions on this forum taken the wrong way?
I'm a curious person and I wanted to get an insight on this subject. How else are you going to understand how and why people think and act the way they do?
Anyways, thanks again for your thoughts.

Great approach. You gave them food for thought especially making quotes from Rutherford. Hopefully you handcuffed them.

So were any bible prophecies true?
by cheeseman ini'm just wondering to what extent the bible accurately predicted future events?.
when i was a good little jw, i was constantly reassured that we could have confidence in the paradise because the bible always got it's predictions correct since it was inspired by jah, blah, blah.. does anyone know of a good website which critically examines each bible prophecy one by one?
what do real bible scholars with no bias make off all these prophecies?.

Simple, if I told you not to touch the stove because you'll get burned, and if you do, then who's fault?
How many parents tell their children 'not' to do certain things because it is harmful to them? How many?
Is there any time in your life that you told someone 'not' to do anything, why?
My point being is that those experiences do take place and there's is nothing you can do about 'except' deny or refute it. My friend, you and I are going to die whether we believe it not.
OK, that text was written on April fools day, 2045AD.

Peracefulpete, what difference does it make when those words were written. The subject matter is Bible prophecies.
Do you know when it was written? If you do, confirm it.

Gen 3:16, "I shall greatly increase your pain of your pregnancy; in birth pains you will bring forth children, and your craving will will be for husband, and he will dominate you."
vs.17 "...cursed is the ground on your account. In pain you will eat its produce all the days of your life.
vs.18 "And thorns and thistles it will grow for you, and you must eat the vegetation of the field.
vs.19 "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return."

If you had 1 hour left to live, what would you say to Jehovah?
by JH in.
this should be interesting

What's an hour to Jah? Let's see, 'if,' I would request that if I get a hole in one within my hour, I would be entitled to live forever, how's that? No, its not fair because I've only had only 1 hole in one in 40 years!
What did Jesus say when he had 1 hour to live?

So, you have a boyfriend that calls you everything Friday at 3am just to tell you he loves you, and he's drunk on top of that?
Instead of you getting on the Greyhound bus tell your boyfriend to get 'under' it! That should solve one of your problems.

Naysayers and the "Big News"
by avishai inmany of us don't see the legal ramifications of this info., or even the importance of changing the blood doctrine.
915 people died in jonestown.
it's highly likely that as many, many of them children die per year as a result of this policy.. now, many have also lost heart about other cases, because there has'nt been much media attention lately, plus there was a post, or a message from bethel that stated that the wts won all the child molestation cases.

I'm on the same wave length Avi. Everything takes time, it takes 40 years to be 40 years old, it's not a snap of the finger deal.
We need more posts of this nature to help others see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
