Number crunching - the impact of the net

yesterday i noticed that there were at least 3 newbies who signed up and posted.

almost every day we have at least 1 new person sign up and post.

that of course doesn't include those who sign up and don't post.. i've read numbers that stated it took so many hours of witnessing to make 1 baptized jw.

Yes, and let's treat them kindly and with respect. Maybe someone should this stat to the WTB&TS and we're not even going door to door.

Going out with a bang

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.

it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.

Beepbeep, hey, I wore a beard in the 70's nothing happened. I wore colored shirts to the meetings and nothing happened.

The only time anything happened to me was, forget it, I'm not telling.

Being raised a witness has it's benefits...

i actually have several reasons why i don't resent my witness upbringing, but it sure came in handy today.. last year i posted about helping 50 kids run in the seattle kids marathon at my daughter's school.

the event was a blast and while it was a ton of work, seeing the joy on the kids' faces when they crossed the finish line made it all worth it.. this morning i spoke to the entire student body at my daughter's school at their monthly spirit assembly.

if i hadn't been raised a witness, giving talks from the time i was five, i never would have attempted such a thing.

Great news Princess. Two thumbs up from me!!!!. If we can extract the good out of bad situations it strengthens us. Your witness training came to good use as you helped 550 young people and the staff. I'm proud of you, very.
