Are YOU a Risk Taker?
by Golf ini am, how about you or do you prefer your comfort zone?
being a risk taker doesn't mean you have to put your life literally on the line i.e., did you ever stand up to someone in authority and give them a piece of your mind?
what are some of the things you did that you considered risk-taking?

mkr, I've always been impressed with sky divers and cliff climbers. One of my son's ski dived.
I was watching the Oprah show last week and saw this guy bungi jumping and the cord was too long resulting in him landing on the rocks and lived. Another guy had the cord wrapped around his neck and he too lived.
It's the feeling afterwards that gives one the rush or I'll never do it again.

Can the beast be slain? Should it be?
by AuldSoul inon another thread i was responding to sentient and realized that what i was writing is what i truly feel so many who come out don't look at from a practical standpoint.
the individuals in the organization are not typically the biggest problem, it is the organization itself.
they call it an "organization" to hide its true face; it is a corporation.

I wish I could fill part of your emptiness with words of comfort at this time.
It's comforting and encouraging to see others responding to your post. We all have you in our hearts. Once again, my deepest sympathies.

Great experiences, keep em coming.
Zagor, I can relate to your comment. In golf, I'm a real risk-taker. I try to pull off the impossible shots and most of the time they work. I've taught my youngest son to do the same thing and he does. The excitement, whether the risk is in your favor or not, its a thrilling feeling!!!!! Yeah, go for it!
Confession, that was great, two thumbs up! About that roller coaster ride. My older sister and I (she lived in Brooklyn) would go to Coney Island and ride the roller coaster until our faces turned color.
Bigmouth, well said.

Over 160,000 Simply Left The "Truth" Last Year
by minimus inthat was the comment that a former elder made at the local meeting today in his comment.
evidently, he and his wife heard a bethel speaker's comment during his talk say that (i believe the figure was) 167,000 people did not get disfellowshipped but simply left.
the ex-elder made it a point to say that the elders should be watching to help out the flock before they up and leave.

GG,sorry to hear about your mate. I too would lose plenty of happiness if something seriously happens to my mate. We've been married for forty three years and we've known each other well over fifty years. I married outside the faith and looking back, I did the right thing. Being a witness didn't stop me from doing what I wanted to do.
I hear you GG. Take care and thanks.
