so, do you have one outstanding "hint" that helps you everyday?
i do and i call it the "one thing only" (oto) philosophy.
i first put it together hearing a statement saying "never leave a room empty-handed" (mary lou henning?
I'm a planner and as such I have set goals to accomplish. It gives me great satisfaction knowing another job has been completed.

is there such a thing as "objectivity"...or is there only "subjectivity.
" do you know the difference?.
please provide examples if you wish.. gumby
Gumby you wouldn't get me to stick out my finger and get whacked with a hammer. For what, to feel pain?
I've mentioned it before and I'm going to mention it again, I'm a high steel worker, what do you think it takes to walk around steel girders many stories above street level, subjectivity? You don't think having an objective view is must in this profession? Your dealing with heights and walking around narrow beams. For starters, take a plank and place it on cement blocks, one on each end, and walk across it. Once you've accomplish this exercise, can you imagine yourself being 5,10,20,30,60 stories above street level and doing the same exercise? Now, what do you call that, nitpicking?

i got an email the other day from an long time jw, in fact he was 13 at the 1958 convention in ny and polo grounds .
we were talking about the org and he posed the question to me as well- i thought about it and i could not think of anything-.
i have never heard -other than the name adoption resolution- any mention of any resolutions that we as jw adopted like in 1979, 1983 , etc.
Ah, keeping the flock in 'suspense' what magic, what illusion!

did it seem strange to you, almost surreal?
it's happened to me several times.
about 2 years after i was df'd, hl and i were newly weds heading for a weekend in london.
NO! Why even think of going to any meetings when your not going to have a Christian welcome? Why be treated like crap? Why?

dear brothers,
it has been brought to our attention that certain brothers have had questions regarding the societies' membership as a non governmental organization with the united nations from 1991-2001. rest assured that we are no longer members, having removed ourselves from this organization over 3 years ago.
it was only in our undaunted zeal to proclaim the good news to "all nations" (as was jesus' admonition), in these critical last days, that the faithful slave class approved membership as an ngo.
Personally, this letter should be sent to the existing GB, it would shake them up, better yet, to all the congregations throughout the world! I mean, they would have some explaining to do. Yeah, I'm dreaming again.
The GB would never make a comment of this nature to the flock. No way would they open the door of questions to other burning issues, no way! We gotta to keep the minds 'eye' closed.

one of the comments i have heard many times is what good manners i display.
i open doors, allow others to cut in line ahead of me, say please, thank you and may i all the time, stand for a lady and many other simple little and often goofy actions that seem to have been lost on the current generation.
in fact the thing that attracted my present girlfriend was her observation of my good manners.
Guilty. When you've been in the construction trade, its the norm, believe it or not. Play golf and you'll hear plenty of cuss words and from people you lest expect.

are you one of those sleepers where the slightest noise will wake you up?
or could you sleep through an earthquake?
do you sleep on your back?
No problem, no problem. I have to wear something in the event of an emergency.

sometimes, there is nothing you can do to stop people....

Another sad, but a true story, that will fall on deaf ears of the GB and fellow witnesses. They have their own version as to why people commit such acts, and nothing but nothing, will convince them other wise.
