It's too bad, they can only be sure they will "probably" be saved. I always loved that "probably" thing.

do you believe only the jw's will be saved? from official wtbs website.
by candidlynuts indo you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?
many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not jehovah's witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life.
many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before god's time of judgment, and they will gain salvation.

That's very good information. Something I can use to explain my position, it's hard to argue that they speak with the authority of "god".

daily inspirational
by itsallgoodnow ini got this little inspirational email from a friend this morning (don't worry, i won't do this every day, just today).
being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect.
it means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

-------
Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections. .
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously
for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he
decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all
grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey
realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's
amazement he quieted down.A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was
astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the
donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the
animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon,
everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of
the well and happily trotted off!Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to
getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just
by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less
NOW --------
Enough of that crap .
The donkey later came back and bit the shit out of the farmer who had
tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected, and the farmer
eventually died in agony from septic shock.MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:
When you do something wrong and try to cover your ass,
it always comes back to bite you. -

Yeah, I've heard of mighty. Some of my family went to a congregation with a guy that had a franchise, and he and his family looked down their snotty little noses at everybody else. Make way for the big business man! I'm sure it wasn't you, but you probably knew them. So they are out of business now?

If it's a Witness owned operation, wouldn't the woman using the machine in the picture need to be wearing a Sunday meeting clothes whilst she does her housework, or at least a frock of some sort, maybe a more casual skirt with a modest blouse?

Simple Questions that Jehovah's Witnesses cannot readily answer...
by joenobody insome do not like to discuss doctrinal issues with elders etc.
when leaving the org or studying feeling inadequate.. .
i present for your consumption some very simple questions to ask that reveal motives and objectives to use in lieu of doctrinal debates.

I think the real reason they don't put the publications online is because they need a more personal method of putting social pressure on people. You don't just give them the information, you need to bully them into starting a study, coming to meetings, getting baptized, spending time in
field servicecult recruiting and feeling guilty about ever damned thing in life. It's easier to click off a web page than it is to tell someone you don't want them to come back, or you want to stop studying. That's a great question about retirement planning, though. Most Witnesses who can afford to probably put money away for retirement in 401K's, but some very hardliners in my family got pretty pissed at me when I said something about "when you retire", as if it was an affront to their faith and I should have known better. They still think they won't get to retirement age in "this system" (please! I guess they'll just have to face that reality later).
I always love to play with them and mention things about what I think is going to be the situation of the world when I get old (will there be any social security for me?). Yup, I'm going to grow old and die just like the rest of those bastards. They can't even take a hard look at what happened to generations of Witnesses before them and learn from it. That's just sad.

WTS Damage Control
by Wolfy inthe wts is in damage control mode.
the september 1st wt shows how paranoid the wts has become.
the 1st study article talks about glorifying god "with one mouth".

I have noticed them stressing this recently, all of which goes pretty much ignored by everyone. Unless they start disfellowshipping for it, how many people will really pay any attention whatsoever?
Maybe it's leading up to something else, like they may ask people to give up a little more (like they haven't taken enough yet), something the WTS feels threatened by, like personal computers, the internet, something along these lines... but in reality, it's more likely they just want to keep drilling it in to people how powerless they should feel. Even if you have the right to do something, if somebody looks at you cross-eyed, be prepared to lose that right, it was never really yours to begin with.
They keep treating people like children, which is evidently what some people want and need, but once they grow up, they won't want it anymore. Before I ever realized anything about their lies, this was the thing I hated most about the JWs.
They're my rights, dammit, and I'm keeping 'em!
