my sisters are petty and sad
by itsallgoodnow insure, they are jws, but it's not about that.
they have never really cared about me.
they have always kept me out of their stupid little "club".

Courtney Love's mommy had some pretty good advice...
by itsallgoodnow ini came across a really interesting article in psychology today magazine about courtney love's mother.
it's not so much about courtney, although i had no idea how she was, but it was more about how helpless she felt as cl's mother in that relationship, which has always been strained and there have been periods of being cut out of her life.
she talks about how we have these ideas about closure and control, which are really fantasy, but we need to "live with what happens to us" and focus on what we can do with the situation.

WTS getting better prepared to handle AWOL witnesses?
by itsallgoodnow inunder the guise of being able to "find and aid" brothers who are displaced due to natural disasters in the gulf coast this summer, we are receiving great pressure to provide our elders with names, addresses and phone numbers of where we will be in case of evacuation.
i'd like to think it's because a few good witnesses in louisiana managed to become "lost" and what a way to escape!
i don't know if i'm just reading too much into it, but the pressure to provide the information is quite intense and it really makes you wonder.

no reward?
by itsallgoodnow ini'm hearing lately, and it's not the first time i've heard this, that some elders believe the idea of paradise earth should be downplayed, or even abandoned.
they have tried to discourage different ministerial servants i know from focusing on the paradise earth doctrine in passive agressive ways.
i was thinking this is probably either some elder's idea of being super righteous, ie they would "serve" for no reward, no promise of life everlasting in paradise, or maybe these elders are beginning to doubt?

daily inspirational
by itsallgoodnow ini got this little inspirational email from a friend this morning (don't worry, i won't do this every day, just today).
being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect.
it means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

how many days?
by itsallgoodnow inok, so we've probably all heard before that someone out there has done a study calculating about how much time we will have spent in our lives sitting at red lights and it comes to about a year?
try calculating about how many days you have spent at circuit/district conventions in your life, assuming there were 3 for circuit every year, and 3 or 4 for district every year.
i can't remember the year it switched to from 4 down to 3. this number is bigger than you might think, especially if you were raised as a jw.

WT illegal doctrine
by itsallgoodnow inafter reading the nov 1 1999 questions from readers about voting... http://www.jwfiles.com/vote.htm.
i'm wondering if they felt they needed to change their teachings on this because they feared legal action against them for disenfranchising their people.
am i on the right track with this?
