I really don't buy the idea they are just delusional. I think they know full well what they are a cult and a scam, and they intend to keep it that way. They know armageddon is never coming, they probably even suspect God doesn't exist. Bait and switch, that's true. The way they cover up their mistakes, it just doesn't sound like it could be anything else. I think they have a lot of people snowed, thinking they are just crazy, delusional, mislead people with good intentions. No. I don't believe that anymore.

How true. It's already happening with me. Low service hours, not commenting much at meetings. Friends have commented to me that "I miss a lot of meetings." I still maintain the same amount of social activities, but I found that the friends were not as open to me as they used to be. They probably wonder what's going on with me.
Yeah. I got the "do you know what you are doing" speech from a person formerly known as my friend recently. Yeah, I think I do know what I'm doing, and apparently so does everyone else. Oh, well.
I don't know if I'm completely buying into this "class" of non-believing JWs who want to reform this religion stuff. I just don't see it ever working, and who would want to dedicate their life to that anyway? I don't know.

A Common Dub Type?: The henpecked ubm who joins because of his nagging wife
by Check_Your_Premises ini have been around enough to recognize certain patterns in dub membership.
for instance there is a very common situation, where a dub gets df, marries a worldy promising never to return, has a kid, gets reinstated, and then we have to console some poor sob who shows up here trying to figure out what the hell just happened to his/her life.
i think i have isolated another common dub type; the weenie husband, whose wife joins, and then he joins too because his wife wears the pants and he does what he is told.
